type | Genetics Only | author | chocosaurus | updated | 8/1/2013 | Grape Norns are monogamous, exclusively-fruit-eating creatures spliced with grapes! Rather random, yes, but when you're a bored Shee with nothing but tea and grapes and a genetics lab, well, that's what you do! Below are listed their properties in greater detail:
1. They are monogamous.
Just because I don't know of any other breeds that are. However, the trade-off is that they will only breed once per lifetime of their own accord. That is to say, after they breed once, their sex drive will plummet and they will produce libido lowerer in huge quantities for the rest of their lives and will, therefore, never feel the need to breed again. Thus, each Grape Norn will be limited to one partner for life. This should simplify family trees and prevent overpopulation. If you want to breed them more than once, you will need to use an agent for that (i.e. an artificial inseminator, maybe a Cupid's Lyre).
2. They will only eat fruit!
Well, for the most part. They have the ability to eat other foods, but most individuals will not touch anything but fruit even if other foods are available. But this is okay; they can get all the nutrients they need from fruit!
3. They never get drunk!
Or, at least, if they ever do, they'll recover quickly. This is because their bodies produce alcohol dehydrogenase with every breath! Otherwise, their little grape bodies would just fill them up with wine!
They use the Treehugger Norn sprites. I highly reccommend a quick-growing or self-replenishing fruit agent, like the Candyfruit or Magic Apples, to keep them well-fed. :3
Have fun, and enjoy your Norns! |

I just downloaded them today and I am totally in love.
They are so friendly and nice and kinda easy to take care about.
But there is one loverboy who doesn´t understand the concept of being monogamous.

It's too bad you can't influence the chance of multiple births on a genome level instead of having the same setting for the whole game.

Nutter, you can wolfling if you make them have 1-4 norns per pregnancy! It would be an interesting run, that's for sure.

I can see Laura's patch plant plums and aubergines being good food sources for these, too... the only problem would be wolfling with these, because the population will halve every generation. Very neat concept though.

Thank you!
Yes, those are the treehuggers. Lol i know what you mean, some breeds can be hard to tell apart when they're altered.

Very neat concept! Since I'm usually awful at telling which sprites are in use, are those Treehugger Norn sprites? Or do they use another breed? I'll have to try these out one of these days!
