| | Sahara hatched as a pale white egg in the desert. From a young age she learned that cacti can be eaten if you smash them open first, and that Gnarlers and Balloonbugs make great playthings. She explored most of the desert by the time she was an adolescent, but couldn't explore to deep into the desert's mountains or anywhere outside the desert because she would start to shiver. So she tried to forget what might be out there, which wasn't hard as she was easily distracted by anything shiny.
Then she met Gomaz and her life changed for the better. She learned that outside wasn't so cold when you had blankets, and a friend to explore with. She even traveled to Dulcia while pregnant, and made Dulcia her permenet home. When Gomaz died, Sahara continued to explore Dulcia alone. She managed to tame a few pepperment birds while getting old and grey, and even trained them how to deliver packages. Rest in peace Sahara. Sahara has discovered that there are ghost cacti! |

"Here we go!"
Gomaz pushes a second button on the teleporter. Next thing they knew, they're standing in a small wooden cabin. Inside are mountains of pillows, blankets, and sweets. Off to one side is an old furnace, and next to it is a bundle of logs and kindling. The only thing that betrays the unsual location of this house is it's windows, looking out into a world of sugar and eternal night skies.
He stretches his arms out happily. "We're here!" Then he promptly plopped down on some pillows, sighing.
"Ah, I'm pooped! Are you feeling warm enough, dear?"

|
Sahara squees and takes his hand, happily standing close to Gomaz. She is careful to keep all hands, feet, and egg inside the teleporter at all times.
| | |
|
"Almost there! Just a few more steps to go!"
Gomaz cracks his knuckles, and moves to one of the farther corners of the room. He bends down, and pushes a button.
*BZZP*
The teleporter lights up, ready for use. He invites Sahara to stand with him as he activates it, so that they may arrive at Dulcia together

"Genius!" Sahara carefully hands him the basket, and climbs up. Gomaz carefully hoists up the basket, and Sahara takes it back. While Gomaz climbs up himself, Sahara looks around the treehouse, looking at all the neat things in there. A silver rock in particular catches her eye, and she pokes at it with her free hand.
| | |
|
"We're almost at my treehouse! We'll be there in no time!" Gomaz grabs Sahara's hand carefully, and helps lead her and the egg through the maze of trees.
Eventually, they reach a very large tree deep in the forest, as thick as it is tall. Gomez lets go of Sahara's hand for a moment to search the tree, when he finally finds what he is looking for. He tugs on a hidden rope, and voila! A rope ladder unravels itself down until it reaches the base of the tree.
Gomez offers to hold the basket for Sahara while she climbs up.

Sahara casually tucked her egg into the basket, and looks at the canopy longingly. She had a look to her that said that she would probably never explain how the egg was mysteriously in the basket now.
"I can't wait to see what is there!"

|
He nods, watching with interest as he sees a rare jackalope blazing through the plains. Gomaz points the animal out to Sahara, laughing at it's awkward-looking antlers.
The farther they walk, the greener and wetter the savannah grass gets. The trees seem to clump closer and closer together, the more wet-loving species replacing the dry-loving ones seen earlier on the journey. A large canopy of trees is seen in the distance.
"We're almost there!"
| | |
|
Sahara listened to Gomaz's story and didn't notice how far they had gotten until his story was over. She looked at the trees as they walked on, occasionally poking at some of the grass. She was just taking in the sights.
"That way quite the adventure for the little Nornchi I bet!"

|
Gomaz nods "Yeah, it was a little scary at first! She was in a hurry to enter the world . . ."
He then went into detail about his sister's origins. About how her egg was laid on the plains, and how she hatched not long after.
"I ended up carrying her the rest of the way there. She was heavier than I thought she'd be! But in the end, she was more tired than I was when we reached Dulcia! I don't know if she slept through the amazing light show or not. I never asked . . ."
By the time Gomaz finished talking, the trio had long stepped off of the hot sands of the desert, and into the dry grass of the flat savannah plains. Tall trees poked out in the horizon, isolated far from each other much like the oasis's of Sahara's native biome.

|
"Mmm, sounds like a sugary heaven" Sahara also starts to drool a bit, immediately forgetting about her dream.
"You've told me a little about your sister. You never said she hatched on the way there though! That had to be exciting."
