Tazer Ettinchi Nutter | born 10/1/2013 | 3 |
Tazer hopes he'll get to meet his children some day. |

"I didn't realize I had any family. I thought... maybe they might have been gone already... and that I might have been the only one left. At first I wasn't even sure if I had any relatives at all, but then I realized that I must have, because I could tell I was at least fourth generation. But now that I know others exist, I'm going to try to find them."
Reading is indeed a useful skill. Unfortunately, Maika never had the chance to learn.

See? Tazer was never that interested in learning to read, but I told him it'd come in useful.

Tazer isn't paying much attention, having picked up on something in the records, and is busy cross-referencing. "Did you know you have family?" he asks. "It says here that they had two children, Basil and Maika. Basil died before you were hatched, but had two children. His son Yannic - your nephew - is still alive. You must have met him, he's not much older than you... his brother spearmint had two sons, Sithis and Finwë, and they're still around, too. And it's an old family; your dad was first generation, as I am, but your mum was 9th - your family goes way back!"

Maika accepts the teddy gratefully. "I never knew that a place like this existed. I thought I might never find out who my parents were. Thank you for showing me this." She looks at the pictures of her parents, imagining what they would have looked like, sounded like, acted like. She tries to decipher the strange words next to the pictures, tracing her finger over each character, searching for any clue about what her parents were really like. When she realizes that she can't understand the Handish language at all, she stands up, leaving the teddy bear next to the graves. "I can never thank you enough. To think I spent so long inside an egg, longing for my parent's company, never knowing about this place...."

Tazer looks a bit taken aback, and hands Maika a teddy for comfort. "Yes, I know who your parents were - Euterpe and asuma sarotobi. I can show you pictures. Did no-one show you the graveyard? Ever?" He looks genuinely shocked. "I thought everyone knew! It never mattered to me much, because I don't have any family, but Perchance showed me." Tazer takes Maika by the hand and leads her to the graveyard, and shows her the pictures of her parents. "The writing by them, if you can read it, tells you who their parents were, and so on back to the first eggs - but it's all in handish," he explains.

"I'm looking for--" Abruptly, she starts over and says, "I didn't get adopted for a long time." She pauses again. "My parents were gone before I was born. I never really knew much about them. Not even their names. Just that they were green, and that my mother was looking for friends. I know that I'll n-never m-meet them," At this point she breaks down into tears. "B-but I wanted to at least know wh- who they were. And see if they left anything... behind." She looks up, hopefully, and says, "Do you know who they were?"
| |
|
"Who are you looking for? I know quite a lot of creatchis..."
| |
|
"Thank you. Anyway, I came here because I'm, uh" she pauses, takes a deep breath and then continues in a shaky voice, "I'm looking for s-someone." She pauses again. "And I thought maybe you might know where they are."
It's so startling when a creatchi gets old. It always seems so soon.

Tazer's senile. That seemed to come round surprisingly fast.

|
"No problem," says Tazer, nipping back inside the door, and reappearing with a jug and a couple of glasses. "Lemonade for emergencies - that should do the trick."
