Metaroom Showcase: Veridia Games KittyTikara | 12/11/2014|| |
A showcase by KittyTikara, telling us why Veridia is a highly customizable metarom. Submitted for CCSF 2014.
Veridia isn't my favorite metaroom, but it's probably the one I use the most. There really isn't much to the room, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. On the good side, it's easily the most customizable metaroom out there, besides maybe the Freedom room or Biodome. The trees are perfect for patch plants and the treehouses make for a nice multilayerd metaroom. The graphics are also quite nice, and it took me a while to realize that there were mountains it the background! Plus it's mapped in such a way that you can easily add on to the treehouse platforms, and I often do.
It's large enough to accommodate a large group of Creatures without them getting crowded. Plus it being empty means it's much easier to convert into whatever sort of world I want. I've even used it as an underwater world before, which was quite surreal.
There's also a few downsides to it. The elevators that come with the room are broken and you need elevines to use the upper levels. Plus there aren't any CA links between the different levels, so Creatures won't travel between them on their own. Luckily the Room Edits agent can help with that. Once you do all of that, you get to decorate it, which either really fun or really boring depending on how you like to play. It has quite a bit of potential, and perhaps that's why I'm still using it years later.
Since I've spent so much time decorating it, I decided to put together a small list of the agents I like to use in the room. I haven't included a lot of patch plants, because there's to many to list. Almost all of them work beautiful in Veridia though. Here's the list:
* Albian snails and glow worms
* Dynamic Blooming Flowers
* Potted Bromseplant
* Potted Eggtree
* Potted Rainbowbamboo
* Tea Time Plants
* Watercup Mushrooms
* Strange Ball
* Fir Tree
* Halloween Tree
* Winter Holidays Pack
