Because I noticed some people here also play Animal Crossing games, I thought opening a forum topic about it is a good idea.
What is Animal Crossing? Animal Crossing is a series of simulation games developed by Nintendo. You play a human character that moves into a town with anthropomorphic animals. The game has an open-ended gameplay. You can do things like collecting items, improving your town, interacting with the villagers and more. Throughout the year, there are special events. Recent games also have online gaming capabilities. The newest game in the series - Animal Crossing: New Leaf - was recently released for Nintendo 3DS.

Notice about exchanging friend codes
Both players need to enter each other's friend code, so you need to send a message to the other player when you added him/her so he/she can add you. Please be cautious with inviting people to your town and adding friend codes. Every person who visits can ruin your town! Also, please note that on the Nintendo 3DS friend codes are console-wide, so they can play with you in other games. You might not want that.
Notice to staff members: Feel free to add new information to this post.

To start off, I bought the new AC: New Leaf game a few days ago. I really like it and I'm already doing my first things as mayor and I've visited the island already. Do some members here also have New Leaf?
Geek Ettin's Lab (New!) Bill Gates:"Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one."
I have a town called 'Valentia' in Wild World and I'm getting a little bit addicted to it! I love my neighbours (well, except Rasher, because he's always rude. My absolute favourites are Lucy, Opal and Pango) and I'm enjoying seeing the town slowly develop into something better as each day passes. I've only been playing for two weeks now, and already I'm on my third mortgage, and we have a Nookway.
I'm happy to exchange friend codes via PM if anyone wants to visit and vice versa. I need more varieties of fruit; I only have oranges.
In New Leaf I started with apples, but I got lemons and bananas via the island. Hugh, Merry, Scoot, Curt and Dora are living in my town since I started the game, and Gigi, Rocket, Ed and Mathilda moved in recently. I'm saving my Bells so I can buy expensive things later. I also started my first town development project, a fountain.

I'm so jealous of all youse lucky people with New Leaf; when I finally get a job, I may have to invest in a 3DS!
I've actually been watching AndrewArcade's Let's Play of the game, and it all looks too cool for words. You can do so much more stuff! I recommend his videos to anyone who's an Animal Crossing fan, or of Let's Plays in general, because he is fantastic at them.
By the way, am I the only one who got excited when 'Nookington's' opened in their town? I'm a bit nervous to see what Harriet in 'Shampoodle' does to my hair though!
I love the Animal Crossing games. On New Leaf, I plan on getting all eight wolves in my town, plus two dogs, even though I'm a cat person in real life.
Hehe, well anyone who has New Leaf and like to trade Friend Codes..Or if you just want another friend on your list, feel free to send me a private message on here!
Laura: I wish you good luck at finding a new job! I know it's hard to get a job nowadays, but I'll cross my fingers for you!
Some days ago Scoot moved out of town. T-Bone moved in after he left, but I liked Scoot more. That's a bummer.
I customized my town a bit with textures, so I have paths everywhere. It really looks nice. You can import textures with QR codes people created and posted on the Internet. You need to become friends with Sable first, though.
I earnt some medals with the island tours and I'm now a Club Tortimer member. I still need to find out what I can do with my membership.
Here is my 3DS friend code. If someone want to add me, please send a message (PM) with your friend code so I can add you, otherwise it won't work.

My favorite furniture themes in the Animal Crossing series are Modern and Sleek (the latter was introduced in New Leaf.) As for flooring, I'm fond of the Shanty Wall and Shanty Mat.
I've found a new money making technique on the Internet, and it's working quite well! After 7 PM you can catch insects which have a high value on the island. Because I caught lots of insects today, I got a badge for my TPC from Phineas! Yay!
I've got lots of money because of the bug catching, so I spent it on public works projects. The Dream Suite project was also finished today. I found a town called Albia, which was the town of someone called Aiko. I bet that's Amaikokonut's town.
Is anyone here member of the AC community?

Forgot to post here and let you guys now I was finally able to get a 3DS with New Leaf! I'm very willing to play online with people and such, so just send me a message if you want my friend code! My town fruit is apples, but I have cherries, mangoes, pears, coconuts, and those weird spikey ones too? XD
Shall we revive this baby, since a few of us are, or will soon be playing New Leaf? As Kezune suggested, it'd be great fun if we could play in a group. I haven't played in a week or so, but I hope to pick up the game again soon! I just fear the WEEDS and wilting flowers, since I didn't have the 'Beautiful Town' ordinance implemented.
My town is called Valentia and my neighbours are: Agnes, Baabara, Butch, Cube, Dora, Graham, Mott, Pompom and Rowan. I love Agnes and Pompom the most (although Pompom stood me up, once) and there's no love lost between me and Baabara. She called me harsh, after I told her that her house was nice, and sent me a broken post in the mail.
My town fruit is cherries, but I've also grown perfect cherries, peaches, mangos, lemons and lychees. I've unlocked the island, 'T&T Mart', the gardening store, 'Kicks', the petition for 'Club LOL', and I've been busy trying to collect the Lovely furniture set for my house. I also have the 'Fish Maniac' and 'Insect Maniac' badges from Phineas, because I'm little obsessed with collecting exhibits for the museum.
My mayoral duties have seen me build a second cobblestone bridge, a campsite, and now I've started a project to reinstate the Reset Center... Because no AC game is complete without the wax lyrical rantings of Resetti!
That's how I scraped the cash together for mine, by saving up. It took me a while, but it was so worth it when I had enough to buy a secondhand one online.
I just started playing New Leaf and I have a tiny town named Qwert (long standing tradition of mine)! I really enjoyed my mayoral welcome. XD
Earlier today though I was playing Animal Crossing: City Folk. I paid off my first house and now I'm working towards paying off the upgrade. I haven't finished any of the collections in the museum yet but I did find a coconut on the beach and planted it. Thrilling, I know. >_>
Anyway, PM me if you'd like to exchange friend codes! I'm still trying to figure out how to find mine. XD
After picking up New Leaf yesterday, I've certainly been enjoying my lovely town of Mabure.
Today I've paid off the first loan (I would have done that yesterday, but Nook closed shop long before I got the bells I needed for that) and will have a proper house tomorrow. I've also caught a load of fish and bugs, and as such the museum's shaping up nicely. I'm hoping to get a garbage can at some point; I also caught two tires and an empty can and really don't want to have to pay a fee just to get rid of them.
The town fruit is apples, although I'm working on growing some oranges. I've a perfect apple tree that's currently growing, although I mistook the perfect apple for a rotten one at first.
The initial population consists of Savannah the Zebra, Wendy the Sheep, Eloise the Elephant, Bob the Cat, and Rocco the Hippo. Of those, Bob's the most likely to be the mayor's BFF, although I also like Wendy a bit and am hoping to get along with Rocco. There's no one I really like or dislike at the moment, though I will give special mention to Eloise for telling me I look like I was starring in a zombie movie earlier. Gee, thanks.
In addition to the above five, someone named Coach is going to be moving in tomorrow. Don't spoil me as to what he's like, or if he's even a he.
Future plans involve building a second bridge because the first one is located in a rather inconvenient spot and it's getting tedious having to walk around the river all the time, as well as erecting a campsite.
Laura wrote: Could anybody recommend some QR codes for female formal/mayoral wear? Preferably a dress or a suit. Thanks!
Might I suggest this suit-like dress? I use the male version (because I enjoy wearing trousers much more so than skirts) and it looks wonderful no matter what else you wear with it.
I know I haven't told you lot much about my town just yet, but I am proud to announce that I finally got the golden watering can today! Now all I need are a good two hundred or so sweet olive bushes and some rearranging of trees, then I'll have my dream town...
Grendel Man wrote: I'm hoping to get a garbage can at some point; I also caught two tires and an empty can and really don't want to have to pay a fee just to get rid of them.
You can get garbage cans in New Leaf? I could certainly use one of those! It's incredibly annoying when you think you've caught something that looks like a nice, big fish, only to find that it's just a piece of junk that you have to PAY to get rid of. Being mayor or not, it doesn't seem fair to me! How can you obtain one?
And thanks, Hawk! That's definitely the style I was hunting for. I'll get right on it. I was also looking at this cute, little number too.
Awesome! And there was me thinking that the ugly garbage can I saw a few days ago, in the T&T Mart, was just a useless/weird piece of tat. I hope I see another one now.
Playing a little more now. So far, the most notable things that have happened was that Savannah decided to replace her record player with a catfish and later sold me said record player, Bob now calls my character Avril "Wonder A," and Wendy now says "glorious" instead of "lambkins."
Also, I made so much moolah that it ran over the bell limit. I'm probably going to expand my house again almost as soon as I get it at the rate I'm going.
And a question: In summer, are any of the big fish shadows in the mainland sea worth going for when the weather is clear? Every time I've dredged one up, it proved to be a sea bass.
It will almost always be a sea bass. Every once in a while, there will be a fin attached so keep an eye out for those as they can be sharks or sunfish. There are sometimes flounders in those big shadows, too.
Here's this. It isn't 100% accurate because it's fan made but it's helpful.
Had a reasonably productive day today. After achieving 100% approval yesterday, I got the town permit today, unlocked the island, updated my town tune, enacted the "Beautiful Town" ordinance because I'm sick of pulling up boots and other things while fishing, and ordered up (and completely funded) a second bridge.
I also fully paid off the second loan and expanded my house for the third day in a row. Considering I don't have much to put in it as of yet, I'm probably not going to fully pay off the next loan tomorrow and as such will save my bells for other things (perhaps renovating the exterior).
It was raining today, so I tried for a coelacanth. I succeeded in catching one, but it practically took all day. I also saw a ton of the huge finned shadows and caught a good chunk of them (once I saw two right next to each other and managed to catch them both, and another time I caught five in one trip).
In villager-related news, I've properly met Coach, who is a jock bull. With "stubble" for his catchphrase. I think I'm going to like him. Also, a newcomer named "Graham" is set to move in tomorrow, very close to my character's house (which is close to Re-tail and the town hall). I'm guessing this one's going to be a bear, but I'm not so sure.
I also visited Savannah's house, and invited Bob to come over to mine. The first of those went swimmingly, but Bob stood me up. Again (he did this yesterday too). I do like him a bit, but sheesh.
I have. I've caught quite a few, actually. You just gotta be patient.
The best tip I can give you is to keep in mind that fish will -always- bite on the 5th nibble. That is, if they just poke the bait 4 times, they -will- sink the bobber on the 5th poke, so be ready.
Sharks should be museum, pet, and early money only ;3
The beetles late night on the island are the money makers.
Also once I get my friend code and add some of you, I've got a lotta items lying around town due to my packrat nature. You're welcome to pick them up for the catalogue, and some to keep.
