The upshot of this is that if you're using the same email and password combination on other sites as you are on Creatures Caves you're better off changing your password for those sites (and changing your Creatures Caves password for good measure).
You can change passwords on CC.com in Settings. If anyone needs help finding the Lost Password page, please PM a moderator and we will help you find it.
As a hobby website, CC.com doesn't have the same resources to throw at security as, say, your Gmail account does. Therefore it is very useful to use long, random and unique passwords for each site/service you use. A password manager can be very useful to store your passwords securely, or you can use the built-in password generators and storage systems in your web browser. I've been using LastPass, but am moving to Bitwarden.

What is this about? Passwords are encrypted using MD5 and the host has reported no one hacking their MySQL databases.
