Hello!
For the past few days I've been working on creating a model in Blender from (strictly) C3/DS's sprites, as faithfully to them as possible. I'm not a professional 3D-artist, so I have ran into a few issues, and tried to interpret the sprites so that I could get to a more or less satisfactory result.
The model is based on the 04b set of sprites, which should be a Bengal Norn. Each body part (head, shin, arm, etc.) is modeled individually, can be posed. The model however doesn't have a skeleton, and is only parented. The textures are drawn myself in Blender, and seek to be somewhat akin to the original style and packed into the .blend file. They should be easy to replace, as each body part has it's individual texture file (eyes aside - those only have materials). I should probably also mention this was done with the Blender Cycles render.
Alas, here is a download (google drive) , for those that are interested in playing around with it, or otherwise.
I want (at least intend) to combine the individual body parts and from that create a model that is more seamless, has a skeleton and is rigged, so it can be posed in a better way, or even animated.
Also, is it possible that the sprites differ from the official wallpapers posted in the gallery? At least it seems to me as though they don't quite match.

looks great! Can we have an obj to play with? no matter if it's without textures. If it corresponds with the original parts it might be a great way to create new breeds! |

Alright, here is a .zip archive which contains the OBJ and MTL file from the Blender export.

This is amazing! Have you thought about making a news post?

this looks great, thank you so much for sharing the file! I had been plucking away at something similar but have a lot of other things to work on so this saves me a lot of time.
Any chance of an Ettin or Grendel model later? |

I hadn't though of making a news post, no.
As for Ettins, Grendels - there is a chance, yes, howbeit not all that great. The time I'll have on my hands for things like these will soon be over. They should be easier to make too, I think, they're not as detailed as norns. Before that I'd still want to finish a model with a skeleton, and possibly facial animations.
But maybe all I need is just another few cups of coffee.

Just so it is clarified, are we (anyone) allowed to create new Breeds, or other stuff, based on your Work/3D Object/Model?
What's the License of this ?
Also Great work! it looks amazing!

Yes, anyone can use it for whatever they want.
I suppose you could credit me, but it's up to you in the end.

Nice! I may take a go at converting it for 3D printing. If it works I'll be sure to let you know (and send you one if it turns out) |

Finally, a starting point for GMOD and SFM Models! The Creatures Source Invasion is coming!
Creatures, and Civilization? I'll pay good money to have Norns form Nations and Cultures! |

Darn near perfect norn model! I'm very impressed! I don't know where mine went...probably archived somewhere.
I want to see someone make a breed with it now!
PS: Bengal eyelids are light gray (for some reason), also don't forget the hair! |

Tried printing this norn a variety of times with a variety of settings. The ears and mouth present the biggest problem. A friend of mind fixed the mouth, but the ears continue to fall off after printing. They probably need to be a little thicker at the base and rooted to the head more securely. Otherwise it prints well. |
