I have this great idea for a COB for C2, so that users can connect to the Internet and do pretty much what we do in DS. But unfortunetly I have a very limited skill set in C2 CAOS... So if anyone likes the idea maybe we could try doing it? I have no idea where to start though. |

I don't think it's possible with the C2 CAOS commands - a slew of internet-related commands were added to the CAOS language of DS to make it Internet-ready.

Similarly, the DS warp runs on a server hosted by gameware, so to do something similar to the warp there would have to be a server involved somewhere.
Such a thing might be possible, but not with CAOS; it would have to be an external application.

Or someone (not me, no idea how) expands the CAOS library to enable that.
The server prob can be solved in different ways:
1. you make it WoW like and everybody who wants to use must pay and the server gets so financed.
2. you make it like chats as MSN or ICQ where a direct player-to-player connection gets etablished.
3. you ask anybody who already has a server #winks to Rascii# to share some bandwidth.
Maybe someone has idea?

Well, actually, my original idea was an external application, which then would connect to a COB in the game. Sort of. Expand the CAOS library, hmmm. Interesting idea. Maybe someone would share server space if the idea got off the ground... |
