I should be finished with Tulu (my metaroom for the CCSF). The metaroom is done, the toys are done, the food objects are done, the vendors are done. Everything is done and ready to be packaged into an agent file--or at least it should be.
I've been following through the metaroom tutorial from last year's CCSF, and it's helped me a lot. The only thing I'm having an issue with is the final part of the process: combining everything into one packaged product. In part 4 the tutorial mentions that you can put the agent injection scripts in the world add-on file. Which makes sense, because that way you're injecting everything all at once. But I don't think I'm doing it right, because it isn't working.
If I put just the agent injection scripts in, it gives me an error because it can't find the eat scripts, hit scripts, etc. that go with those objects. If I put those in too, it gives me an error because it doesn't recognize the second, third, fourth, etc. objects as separate objects. It trips up when it finds new: simp commands that don't begin with the correct intro lines for a script relating to the first object.
So how do I go about packaging everything together? Because everything's ready, it's just me wondering how to fit the pieces together. Once I get this straightened out, Tulu will be 100% complete.
I mentioned this to Vamp, and although she's not made a metaroom, she reckons that you could either put all the scripts in one script, so that all of the install scripts are in one place or add inscr. What did you do?
I took a look at the Gardenia metaroom's .cos file and it was arranged with all the install scripts for all of the objects listed one after another, and then after that, all the interation/timer/etc. scripts. So all the scripts are in one file. Apparently it doesn't matter if the scripts for one object are spread out between scripts for different objects, the game can still find them by classification, which I hadn't realized. All that mattered was that the install scripts came before everything else.
