Creatures Pocket Edition is designed to be able to put creatures on a external USB, external hard drive, and an external SD or Micro SD card. Making all 6 creatures games something you can put in your pocket and take with you. Please note: You still need to load in on a Windows PC. GoG has not implemented Linux or Mac support. No tablets or Phones.

Creatures USB 1.0 - 1.2 was considered Alpha. Creatures USB 1.3 to 1.4 was beta. Creatures Pocket Edition 1.5 is an official release. Marked the occasion by changing the loader from Black to Violet. Yay! :D

Update: Updating to Creatures Pocket Edition 1.6 Anniversary Edition, confirming Windows 8, and 10 support. I honestly had to do very little. Also Changing the color of the Launcher to Gold to mark the 20th Anniversary of Creatures 1. Also added an additional surprise to the Bonus folder found in Videos.

Personal note: Hopefully your dreams of taking creatures in your pocket have come true. I would say that throughout alpha, beta, and until release has been a huge success. It's been really fun working on this, and I hope very valuable to you. It has certainly been a gem for me. Not only to contribute to one of my favorite games as a kid, but also make something really essential for the veterans and new people alike.

This pet project I have worked with it on and off for over 3 years. From tinkering with it, to it's first Alpha release in 2012, and now an official release in 2015, to the 20th anniversary edition in 2016.

Please Note: I have tested this on Vista, 7, 8, and 10.

Mirror 1 (Google)

Mirror 2 (mediafire)

Edit : 10/4/22 Links are current. Added a mirror upon request from Lepadoid. Ignore any other links below.

Well there WAS mirrors on other sites. I did give permission for people to put it on their page. Bottom line is I have put it on media fire, and people complained. I put it on another site which I found out from a member, has a rep as a site that hosts adult type files.

Look, I'll you a solid and mirror it on mediafire again.

Someone please put it on their site. If Albia2000 is still up, or maybe tree sprite could put it on hers. I may get around to adding it to google drive, acessable via link only sometime. It's the holidays so no promises.

This sounds like it would be very useful - especially in case of computer crashes! - but is there any way to download it without having to make an account somewhere? Unless I'm missing something obvious, each time I follow the 'download' link and hit all the buttons, the end result is 4shared asking me to log in. Which is a problem because I don't DO social media, so I don't have an account to log in with. I don't want a 4shared account either.

I am uploading it back to my old 4shared account. I could not use it since the last release was 1.1 gigs. However it did reveal some interesting facts. I have been working on this pet project of mine since Augest 2012.

It is also confirmed by the date on my first post in Creatures USB Suite. Has it really been over two years?

Yeah. I ran into that as well. I had to click the arrow next to it to get it to work.

Well I was using something else before. It was riddled with ads and prove your human capcha. I would use Firefox or IE. Even Spartan when it comes out.

I will look into ownCloud since I have Dropbox and I don't know how to set it up to disallow downloading of my other personal files.

It downloads fine for me in Chromium, but due to the nature of what most people use Mega.co.nz for, it would be best to use Dropbox, ownCloud, or some other distribution service. ><

Same here. I had to download it with internet explorer. :P

Chrome seems to not like the download... it blocks it without my permission and won't let me download it...

New Release! Now under 120mb.

Changes in 1.5:
1. Changed the name to Creatures Pocket Edition. Thanks to the community on coming up with a name!
2. Removed the Discover Albia Tutorials per Jessica's request. Thanks to Jessica for creating such great videos! Links to her videos are below.
3. Jessica's request had a side effect. Total filesize is now smaller.
4. Updated instructions for new GoG.com distribution of Creatures the Albian Years.
5. Added a description for the new Pocket Edition above.
6. Added support for Creatures Village. Added instructions for installing Creatures Village. Installing it is supported, and a installer is included to add the icon to the tray. Does not come pre installed like the other 4 games. It is optional.
7. Removed Camyo it was handy at the time. Ultimately it drained too much resources, and took up too much space. Also helped reduce size.
8. Moved the "Hidden Surprise" into the folder marked Bonus. It is located in the movies folder.
9. Creatures USB 1.0 - 1.2 was considered Alpha. Creatures USB 1.3 to 1.4 was beta. Creatures Pocket Edition 1.5 is an official release. Marked the occasion by changing the loader from Black to Violet. Yay! :D

I'm gonna have to make an updated help file soon. It will include my troubleshooting tips I made during additional testing. So far there has not been anything to explain except workarounds for possible problems.

The new info I discovered during testing, I put in the forum topic. I also plan to put the version changes in there. It should show the differences between 1.0 and 1.4.

In a nutshell 1.0 through 1.2 I considered Alpha. Getting creatures to work off a USB. 1.0 got everything except C3, 1.1 added a lunch bar. 1.2 I finally got C3 to work off USB. The answer was as plain as the nose on my face. These versions had 7 additional programs to run after setting up the USB, and the creatures installs.

1.2 also added Camyo for everything but C1. Basically it removed most of the exes and folders from the install. ( 1.1 still wouldn't run if you didn't add the missing files. Just contained .exe files and the folders. No sounds, body data, no sprites or things that made the game go. Unplayable. ) I was no longer including part of the games with the install. It also had a luncher option to launch help files that came with the games when you launched it. Intro videos for all were added. Click documents button. Then click videos.

1.3 added Camyo for c1

1.4 I added more videos under the videos folder, a tribute I made with Multimedia Fusion 2 under documents, customized the launcher a bit, and put everything into one install file. You didn't have to install the games, then the launcher data, then update the launcher data. Just install, install the games. Tweak it. Go.

More details about the changes will be in the help file, but everything is now 100% made with open source or freeware. Contains no parts of any program, fat preservatives, or high fructose corn syrup.

After additional testing, ( Ugh. My testing never stops. Too proud of this to not be able to answer questions shot my way. ) Please note that if you do follow the instructions included, C3 and DS will run after just a double click of the registry files on any computer that never had creatures on it.

On the other hand, C1 and C2 have been buggy. Changing the name of the directory that contains your creatures files, and starting over from scratch as indicated in the instructions will minimize errors. Just delete the new install, and change the name of your folder back. Activate those registry files too.

C1 and C2 will shoot off errors. Every test I have done has run into it. Just wade through the error boxes, and keep at it. They will run.
