Posted By Malkin on 6/12/2010
Nornalbion has released version 0.9 of c2ephp, a PHP library for developing with Creatures files.

It currently has the following features:

Compiling and decompiling PRAY files
Reading TagBlock data
Compiling and decompiling creature history blocks.
Reading C16, S16, and SPR sprite files and outputting as PNG.
CAOS->HTML syntax highlighter for Creatures 2 and later syntaxes.

Check out the demo site to have a play, or download the whole shebang here. (PHP knowledge required)

There is currently little documentation included with c2ephp.

For further information and how to help Nornalbion, check the Ctopia thread.

Posted By Lembamjunior on 6/6/2010
Lembam.net has opened again! The Lembam.net forums have been opened again! :D Only there are still things to be done. The website needed rebuilding because the webspace was full of different versions of files and data, that it needed to be sorted out.

Thanks for your patience and help! :)

Update 06/10/2010: I'm moving the website to a new server. So the website won't be available over 2 or 3 days. Of course the website will then be available again soon.

CC Chat Online
Posted By Spook on 5/31/2010
Creatures Community IRC OnlineAlthough JRChat is merely a memory now, and though there have been multiple creatures IRC channels in the past that haven't exactly been successful, we're not giving up!

Laura has created a channel for the community to use once again, and we both hope that it is a success.

A web client for CC Chat is being hosted on my blog, here.

If you have an IRC client that you prefer to use, you can connect to CC Chat by typing /join #Creatures on the irc.wyldryde.org server.

We hope to see you there - everyone is welcome! :)

A Message From Steve Grand
Posted By Laura on 5/11/2010
A Message From Steve GrandThe latest news of the Creatures 1 background models being put up for auction has prompted Steve Grand, the 'Digital God' himself, to send our community this message:

Hi Laurence, hi everybody!

Wow! I'd have bought them years ago if I'd been given the opportunity (come to that, I'd have bought the rights to Creatures if they hadn't been sold to Gameware behind closed doors). But unfortunately I live the wrong side of the Atlantic now, too, and there's no space in my apartment. Also, it would grieve me to give as much as a cent to Gameware, even to save those. I do still own the hot air balloon that nobody let me include in Creatures 1 (it was my favourite thing, too!), and one of the tiny clay models I made to show CL how we could make the backdrop (I think Gameware may have the other), but just lately I've had to let go of quite a bit of my past - I don't even have Lucy, my robot, any more (long story) - so 12 feet of display case would be too much nostalgia to hang on to!

While I have you all here, though, you might be interested to know that I've recently started work on a new Creatures-like simulation. It's getting on for 20 years since I started C1, so I figure it's about time I made use of everything I've learned since then! Nobody else seems to have filled the gap. Maybe your kids will be interested?!? You can follow progress on my blog if you like: http://stevegrand.wordpress.com.

Thanks for the info, Laurence. Always nice to know you guys are still flying the flag!

- Steve

Creatures 1 Models For Sale
Posted By Laura on 5/10/2010
Creatures 1 Models For SaleEver dreamt about owning a piece of Creatures history? GreenReaper has announced today:

"Two of the three original background models used to create the background image of Creatures 1 have been put up for auction, presumably by Gameware (mentioned on Cwiki by Dylan Banarse):

Garden scene (terrible photo, see above)
Statue of Liberty underwater scene

They are similar to the norn-home model (a better photo) that - last I saw - was on display in Gameware's meeting room. They cost £5000 each back in ~1995."

Hello Creatures Community!

Late last year I began work on my own Creatures 2 to Docking Station project. Developing it has been quite an adventure so far, and I'd like to share that journey with the community by providing an inside look at how Albia is forming inside Docking Station.

I hope you'll visit and enjoy the blog:

Yummy Seeds Have Arrived!
Posted By AquaShee on 2/13/2010
Yummy Seeds have arrived!A little news post to announce my latest new agent: a bag of Yummy Seeds! :D

I put a lot of work into these seeds to make sure that your norns will love them! Each bag contains one hundred tiny little seeds. I'm 99% sure none of them will sprout though. If they would, you'd end up with some big, annoying fruit-bearing plant that just gets in the way photosynthesizing all over the place. But I'm sure you could just pull its leaves off should such a plant appear.

I'd love some feedback, so why not join the discussion in the topic?
