 | I've recently had the time to take a look at the feedback I had been receiving for the Panda Norns. I have been reworking their head sprites entirely; and I have made a small chart to compare the old head sprites with the new ones.
I've been painting the new heads over male ChiChi Norns all over again, despite that the only feedback I had received from you were the dents in their heads. I think my skill in spriting Norns has increased quite a lot over the last year; which is why I'm updating the Panda Norns now. To me, the old ones seem to be a bit outdated and of low quality. |
 | Sketches for the Leader and Follower pack. |
 | I randomly decided to take this Nornchi here and revamp her with my art style. I might do the other genders and species if anyone wants them, and maybe the items too. |
 | These are some Pixel Norn heads that I revamped in my spare time to showcase my new art style. Things I make will be able to look better with this art style, because there's more room for detail, and the final product won't look as blocky and awkward.
To draw in this style, I would typically draw a very rough grayscale sketch in my usual art style, but with these, I took the Pixel Norn heads, painted them garish colors so that I could work with the revamped versions slapped on top of them, and went from there. After making the initial sketch, I make a less pixelated version over the top of it, with the desired colors. After I'm done with the basics, I add the details and I'm done.
Fun Fact: The revamped ear insides of these heads were originally too small, so I completely redrew them from scratch so that they wouldn't look stupid. |
 | Here is what the Leader and Follower Norns are going to look like. Male Leader Norns (the one shown here) will have darker and poofier hair, while the females will have jewellery and longer hair than the female Follower Norns. |
 | Having some Vaporwave Norns would be cool. |
 | Return of the cards! GAIA this time: She's a defender because she doesn't have arms, but can sort of flop her tendrils at enemies, so she can hold her own. |
 | Okay. So I was thinking about making this for a while, and it turned out decent (considering I had to work in MS Paint...). |
 | I thought these were worth sharing, though some of them don't really look like norns anymore (I'm looking at you, Furious Otter Norns). |
 | Just a cute but silly pair of Grendelchis that attempted to imitate cows. They even have little bitty horns!
A very simple thing that tumbled out of the ol' noggin during the insomnia fairy's visit. |
 | A small picture drawn by the Mossy Shee of her and the Crafty Shee visiting an alien coastline.
It's only a small doodle but since the Mossy Shee's Tree (which is also the tree they're resting against in this picture) was actually since made into an agent and hosted here, it seemed fitting! |
 | There are a lot of different variants of the Pixel Norn species, most of which originating from mutations that were then modified by the people living in the Pixel Terrariums before they were abandoned to tell them apart from normal Pixel Norns.
Some of these variants have completely lost the ability to digest plant matter. This female Pixel Norn is stalking her soon-to-be dinner, a Squirrel Mouse, on the wild, untamed jungle planet some of the Norns were thrown out into when Pixel Terra collided with the planet after the AI of its central computers was thrown out of whack when it was abandoned.
Since the pod was self-repairing, it was eventually managed to get itself back in working order and leave the planet, but the wild Norns remain. |
 | This Norn is learning why one does not simply ferment Midnight Berry juice for three months and then get it out and start chugging it like there's no tomorrow. |
 | Like many Shee, Kuviste was disillusioned by his own race--though he had been working in a small group that seemed to be doing well, he could see those who were failing through no fault of their own being cast aside like... well, like the Grendels. His heart was too big, and he cared too much for the people that his society told him were not good enough. And so, in his rage, one night he took it upon himself to plant an idea that would change Shee society forever.
Kuviste was--is--a man of many ideas and ideals. He always rooted for the underdog, which cost him his place in his own people in the end. Rather than keep Norns or Ettins, he kept Grendels, which many Shee saw as disturbing and wrong. However, this didn't stop him from working closely with his colleagues and finding a romantic relationship in Ellede. Unfortunately, when things got tense between him and the Shee Elders, he purposefully broke Ellede's heart so she wouldn't be trying to tag along with him when he left their homeworld.
He was also known as "The Left Shee" for his mentality of going against what was 'right'. Currently he's just known as another Banshee. |
 | Drawn on request! My Banshee character. c:
Worst Banshee was originally a Shee, but at some early point spliced herself heavily with Tiger Grendel genetics, and joined the Banshee cause.
Thing is, she's big, strong, blindingly intelligent... But Tiger Grendels are not actually all that aggressive. They don't even really hate Norns! She can act the part but violence is not in her nature, and in the end she wound up not really fitting in with either the Shee, OR Banshee community. Nowadays she makes a living picking off and pirating from small Shee vessels.
Other Trivia: She's a genius at hard mechanical technology, but not biotech so much, due to Banshee influence. She has a deep, growly voice but also a little bit of a lisp because of her underbite, so she doesn't like to talk much despite having a lot on her mind. She keeps a lot of Gaius because she's good at fixing them up. |
