 | Doodle of my CFF, and somewhat instinct-less Norn, Will. He's just going to turn around and follow that glowing butterfly. He is a mix of the following Norn Breeds: Giraffe (originally Okapi), Fairyfloss and Yautja.
I say doodle as I made it quick in MS Paint, but the background, glowing effect and the cheeks were done in Paint.Net. It's not perfect, but the cuteness may make up for it.
The background and pic was made by me, Norngirl. The Okapi Norns belong to Creatures/Gameware. The Giraffe Norns were made by Arnout (he resized and converted the original, big Okapi's). The Fairyfloss Norns were made by Generalflame. The Yautja Norns were made by Ghosthande. |
 | My scanner is being a jerk so a mobile pic will have to do.
As the label on the tin states, this is just a draft for a set of creature egg sprites that might never see further than that stage. They were meant for a sprited breed that I was working on before the laptop kicked it last year. In case you can't read it because of size/quality issues the chicken scratch between the labels "Growth Cycle" and "Hatch Cycle" reads:
Hologram?
Space Phantasm?
Cosmoplasm?
Ectogenes?
Galaxian ?
Shell texture indicates species:
Rough > Geat
Matte > Gren
Lo Gloss > Norn
Hi Gloss > Ettn |
 | I had this image lying around for a while and decided, why not post it? This is my banshee character, 'The Wrong Banshee' shortened to 'Wrong' or 'TWB' and her pet creature and lab assistant Drascel, who is not fully Norn, Ettin or Grendel, but some bizarre genetic mishmash with traits of all three and a few weird traits of his own. |
 | Sitting on my "rework this character" backburner, I found my old Bansheesona, Freyja. Gave her a completely different hairstyle among other changes. I might post her backstory once I rework that too.

 | My little Purple Tones C1 Norn boy doodle, quickly made in MS Paint. :3 He looks very happy too! Imagine he's staring up at the Hand (me).
(Norns and Creatures belong to Gameware... Or did... Eh anyway... The purple-toned Norn boy is mine). |
 | Decided I ought to upload this for feedback since, although I'm primarily making this for myself, I also want it to be useful to other people. Plus I thought there might be points I might not be considering that others with more experience in such things might consider.
So. I've recently been finding myself wanting a metaroom that meets a certain description, and while a lot of what's out there is close, nothing -quite- makes it. Hence... well, this. I'm calling it Mare Draconis right now (meaning Sea of Dragons... or maybe Sea of the Dragon, not sure, but whichever). I might change that in time. That'll be the working title in any event. The full-size image is 6,000 x 3,000 pixels, so pretty good sized. I'll be painting this for ages. But it'll be worth it. It's not visible in this image, but there's also going to be a very large tree on the leftward land mass which will hold a couple of lift-accessible platforms to provide more above-water living/wandering area. I didn't think about it when designing this, but it almost kind of looks like an alternate Albia. I definitely intended it to represent a planetside location rather than a room on the Capillata or Ark, so that kind of amuses me to consider.
The holes in the rock are from when I was considering making this wrap and experimenting with how it might work. Since wrapping turns out to be so resource-expensive I'm going to fill those in and it'll be more like a big scoop-out. The area in the upper right where there appears to be a floating bit of land is going to be a cave with a lift leading to the surface. In general though they'll be able to just walk in and out of the water via the two slanting beaches. Haven't decided on the precise placement of the water level yet... might flood the lift cave, might only flood the bottom part and leave the higher part where the actual lift will be dry.
This is obviously VERY primitive - little more than color blockout plans - but if there are any major (or, heck, minor) design problems, please let me know! In general my inspiration for this is the coast where I grew up so it's going to have a rather Northern Californian flavor... the tree is going to be a heavily wind-sculpted Monterey live oak, there'll be a kelp forest and typical Monterey Bay type fish and wildlife. (In short it is a giant exercise in nostalgia, but nevermind. :p) |
 | (My phone took a really bad picture so I "edited" it a little)
About a year ago I wondered to myself what it would look like if someone made the most obnoxiously adorable Norns ever. Something that would give you cavities at just a glance. And I came up with these rounded, fluffy little bug-eyed Norns covered in little hearts and stars.
They're mostly white with accents in pastel colors. The only difference I imagine between genders is males not having the eyelashes and star earrings. When they're sad their heart pupils would turn into a teardrop shape.
I think drawing this gave me diabetes. |
 | Just a preview of my own 3D Model of my first male C1 Grendel I made.
C1 Grendel belongs to Creatures, Gameware (Spil Games)? C1 Grendel 3D model was made by and belongs to Norngirl.

 | "Shee Creates Life" depicts just what the title says.
The original version of this image comes from the Creatures 2 introduction video. In this image, different images from the video has been frozen, cut and pasted together, so that the light hits each piece optimally. Each piece has been tweaked to fit together, but the motive remains the same, and the finished result has been brushed up. |
 | Started out as a sketch I made, then I added more color and shade to it - all in red tones. I only looked at my own reference of the C1 female Fluffy (or White-Haired, Pixie, Fuzzy, Fox, or whatever people may now call them... I'll stick with Fluffy) Norn. I truly wanted to make it a close as the original. I know it's not a perfect clone, but this is as close as I can get for now.
Fluffy Norns belong to Creatures, Gameware (Spil Games now?).

 | An attempt on makin' that intriquing piece of background in C1 into something semi-usable. |
 | The Morning Glory and Nightshade herbs recreated in 3D, it took me around 3-4 hours to complete. I based the lighting off of the shading on the original sprite.
Created in Blender 3D. |
 | I always wanted to draw some breed ideas/concepts of mine. This time I made the Axolotl Norn, more will follow. <3 |
 | - Is a smaller version of the one I posted on DA -
Another 3D model of a male Norn I made, this time with fullbody and own made texture. This male is also not of any known breed, just a cute random design. It's my second attempt at Norn modeling.
Norns belong to the Creatures series © Gameware (Spil Games now, I suppose?). The 3D model and design of the Norn is made by me, © Norngirl.

 | - Posted this on DA, so why not here, too? -
My first attempt on a 3D Norn head model, a C2 male Type H (Hebe) to be exact. Didn't take so long to make this. But I'm happy with it for being my first try and all. The background is of the C2 startup title image.
Norns & the C2 startup title image belong to the Creatures series © Gameware (or Spil Games now, I suppose?). The 3D model of the head is made by me, © Norngirl.
