Creatures Roleplay

This is a roleplay taking place on a modified version of a docked Shee Ark. All the C3/DS metarooms on the site are available to roleplay in, with the exception of C12DS, because C12DS and C2toDS are both different versions of the same world and can't exist at the same time. Also, I like C2 Albia. All the breeds, official or not, from all games, are available. Creature Crossbreeding is injected. Metarooms that are normally inaccessible also have Interporter exits added in, but they often confuse creatures. Here's a quick character template.

Name: What's your creature's name?
Gender: Is it male or female?
Species: Norn, Grendel, Ettin, or Geat?
Head:
Body:
Arms:
Legs:
Tail:
Color: What non-standard color does your creature have? Brown? White? Pink?
Genetic Quirks: Is the creature a slow-ager? Does it need more food than the average creature?
Origins: Where did the creature come from?
Little Details: For example, if your creature has two tails... for some reason. Pretty much just anything that can make your creature unique.
Starting Metaroom: What metaroom do you want the creature to start in?

Here are the rules!

-Everyone starts off as an egg. Hatch in your first post, and then wait a while to age.

-Don't travel across metarooms in a single sentence. Basically, don't say stuff like "Bell went over to the Meso" while Bell is in the Aquatic Terrarium.

-No ridiculous mutations. By that, I mean things like immortality, not needing to eat, being immune to hits, stuff like that. Gaining nutrition through non-standard methods is okay, but just don't break your biochemistry.

-Don't roleplay in C12DS. C12DS and C2toDS are different versions of the same world, and so they can't both exist at once. I chose C2toDS, because that version of Albia is the one that was created when the Capillata launched.

-Don't hatch with a full vocabulary. When you hatch, you must speak bibble until you use one of the conveniently placed Sacred Dragon Skulls scattered throughout the world or learn your vocabulary through some other method. There will be one near the entrance to each metaroom.

-Dialogue should be spoken with creature grammar. Take this dialogue between a Norn and a Grendel, for example. "What dat?" "Weed." "Eem eat weed!" "No eat weed!" *munch* "Eem extremely ill..." "Beh say Eem no eat weed. Eem eat weed. Now Eem ill." "No eat weed..."

-Don't roleplay as the Hand. I'll be roleplaying as the Hand alongside my Geat, so please don't roleplay as it. We don't need two Hands running around... or should I say, flying around.

-Please don't hatch a creature and then have it die two seconds later from genetic flaws. That's pointless and a waste of a perfectly good character.

-Don't get into sticky situations and then Mary Sue your way out of them. If someone attacks you, I'll use a coin-flipping website to decide the outcome.

-Don't make crazy, insane crap come out of an egg layer. For example, something like my Geat coming out of Muco. Don't do that unless you can come up with a decent explanation.

-Don't lay three million eggs at once. I'll flip a coin to decide whether a pregnant female gets one, two, or three eggs.

-Maximum of three creatures allowed under one user at the same time.

-If you aren't happy with your creature, don't make it kill itself. That's just not a thing you do.

More rules will come as I think of them.

This is what's going to happen with eggs.

-When a creature lays an egg, it will become available to use as your character. One of the parents can use it along with their creature, or someone else can get it.

-Eggs that have not been taken by someone will lay dormant like Creatchi eggs.

List of eggs:

Hmm... seems like there aren't any eggs lying around.

And now, my Geat.

Name: Bell
Gender: Female
Species: Geat
Head: Kimahri Norn (C2)
Body: Midsummer Norn (C2)
Arms: Scorpio Norn (C2)
Legs: Bulbous Grendel (C2)
Tail: Dewa Norn (C2)
Color: All of her fur is some shade of purple. Her eyes are red.
Genetic Quirks: She's amphibious, and thinks of Grendel Home as where she's meant to be. She is also deathly afraid of Ettins and gains nutrition by eating gadgets. She can attack Norns in emergencies, but it isn't as nutritious as eating gadgets. She feels pain when she's near other Geats. She also starts tripping balls and becomes wounded a little when she eats flowers. When she's wounded, she starts doing insane things she wouldn't do otherwise.
Origins: The Hand tossed her egg into Artemia Sea, forgetting that eggs could hatch underwater in this world. She was a failed genetic experiment.
Little Details: Reality distorts and glitches around her due to the unstable nature of Geats. She has three tails.
Starting Metaroom: Artemia Sea

(Well, I'll just start this off with Bell hatching.)

The Hand was messing around with the Genetics Kit, trying to get it to work. The genome open was incomplete, but the Hand didn't know what half of the crap displayed on it meant, and accidentally created an egg with the incomplete genome. They noticed this, and wondered what to do with the egg. They decided on picking it up and tossing it into Artemia Sea, intending to put it in stasis for future use. This Hand, however, was in a world where eggs could hatch underwater. They didn't know this, of course, so they threw the egg into the sea like a moron.

The egg eventually shook and cracked as the creature inside struggled to break free. A purple Scorpio claw burst out of the shell as muffled bibble was heard. "Gat exaly knoo, fra tif!" The claw thrashed about in a rather successful attempt to make the hole bigger. It quickly became big enough for the little creature inside to climb out, which she immediately did. She was a strange little thing. Her legs were scaly and small compared to the rest of her, and her tails flecked a shiny liquid that seemed to defy the laws of physics, behaving exactly as if the creature was on land, despite the fact that she was in water. The little creature had a feline-looking face pattern, and her bright red eyes looked almost mechanical in nature. The fur on her chest glowed like fire as she looked around, curious as to what type of world she had been born into. "Ag epp!" Her voice had a strange quality to it, unnaturally high-pitched and sounding like she was talking into a fan. It was so high-pitched that it barely even sounded like speaking. The light around her warped, distorted, and glitched, making her appearance unclear.

This unfortunate creature just happened to hatch on one of the cliffs of Artemia Sea. She was rather hungry, so she sampled the seaweed plant nearby. She immediately regretted it, spitting the organic material out. It tasted awful. Seeing no other option, the creature jumped off the cliff and collided with the ocean floor, sinking like a rock. The impact caused a lot of pain, so she simply sat there for a second to pull herself together. The little creature was a curious one, and she noticed a conveniently placed Sacred Dragon Skull right next to the exit. She approached it and put her claw on it. She immediately drew back and looked at her claw as her glitches completely freaked out for a moment. She now had the gift of coherent speech, but there was a blank void where her name was. She tried out various different words, eventually settling on Bell. "Bell push teleporter!" Bell was confused by the Interporter, and learned that teleporters are completely useless in every way before successfully exiting the metaroom.

Even if she didn't know it, Bell was an unwelcome creature. She was the first of the Geats, robotic creatures that weren't supposed to exist. Reality was constantly on the verge of collapsing in on itself around her, because her genus simply wasn't meant to be. The Hand was tampering with the boundaries of what the world was capable of by creating her, even if it was an accident.

(*looks up at the post* Jeez, that's a lot of text for just hatching, falling off a cliff, and leaving Artemia Sea.)

Ohhh man, gotta do this! Are the Swimming and Flying agents injected? If so can I assume the Flying agent doesn't have the problems it does in the actual games so my character doesn't randomly become an idiot just because he or she decided to fly? :p

That can be in the world if you want. Literally any agent you can think of will be found somewhere in the world as long as it isn't a cheat agent. Just ask me before interacting with an outside agent.

Basically those will just let my character be able to swim and fly - I'm gonna play one of the Norns I've been working on. They're basically Abyss Dragons with the ability to use the flying agent as well as the swimmeragent. They're not immortal (actually they're a bit squishy to some diseases and as TWBs they have temperature sensitivities). Just wanted to make sure that was OK before apping. ^^

Sure! Here's the app:

Name: Braxton
Gender: Male
Species: Norn
All Body Parts Except Arms: Draconian Norn (C1 and C3/DS)
Arms: Gargoyle Norn (C3/DS)
Color: His pigment and pigment bleed genes are such that the normal greens and yellows of the Draconian body have turned to dark blue and purple. His Gargoyle arms and wings are a much lighter turquoise or aqua blue. His eyes are a vivid purple. (He looks a little like the Norn in my icon!)
Genetic Quirks: He has many, but the most important are the following. He is amphibious, able to breathe on land and in the water. His body naturally emits both Swimmerase and Flyerase, which means he can swim in water and fly in the air if the Swimmeragent and Flyeragent are present. He is not immortal, but he does have a much longer lifespan than a typical Norn (up to 15 hours or so in the actual game, not sure how that translates here) and is less fragile. He can be killed by hitting, but it is harder than with a normal Norn, and he has a number of genetic modifications that make it easier for him to stand up for himself and fight back if attacked - by a Grendel or otherwise. On the bad side, he also has instincts and stimuli that cause him to be irritated by Ettins and want to hit them when bored or angry, and if he becomes angry enough, he will want to lash out at other Norns, too. He is very emotional however and more prone to falling in love (complete with using the word 'love') than a typical Norn. His genome is a slightly modified version of Abyss Dragon v2.0, so basically he's the same as they are with a few small changes (mainly the thing about hating Ettins and fixing an error or two in the genome). He can survive entirely by eating critters, bugs, and pests, but is also capable of eating food and fruit to some degree, and can consume detritus without harm.
Origins: A genetic project by another Hand, passed to this Hand in order to play with and experiment.
Little Details: He gets Comfort from positive interactions with other Norns rather than from the Norn Home, so while he gets bored easily and will want to explore, he will not go too far from the group unless they decide to follow him or wander off themselves.

(Alright!)

The Hand opened the Genetics Kit and loaded in the new genome. Another Hand had given the genome to them to test it out. They created an egg from the genome, this time not on accident, and picked it up, wondering where to put it. The Hand eventually settled on (Which metaroom do you want?) and set the egg down so that it could hatch there. Along the way, they encountered Bell in the Norn Terrarium, cracking open and eating the inner workings of a lightmodule and wondered whether they should get rid of her, but decided on just leaving her. If the little Geat had any crippling mutations, she'd die before she could pass them on.

Species: Norn
Head: Draconian Norn (C3/DS)
Body: Banshee Grendel (C3/DS)
Arms: Gargoyle Norn (C3/DS)
Legs: Banshee Grendel (C3/DS)
Tail: Banshee Grendel (C3/DS)
Color: Standard colouration.
Genetic Quirks: Cold blooded, long lifespan, can photosynthesize, no fight or flight response, cannot feel pain, treats the Ettin Desert as home and finds gadgets fascinating.
Origins: His mother came through the warp from an unknown sender and laid the egg before she died.

(Alright!)

Sometimes, weird things come out of the warp. Specifically, a pregnant female who laid an egg and then died with little to no explanation. The Hand picked up her egg and put it in (Which metaroom do you want? I'm gonna have to edit the application form.) to hatch.

(Oop, sorry, forgot the metaroom thing! XD Since the Hand would know from the genome that the egg is for an amphibious breed, let's go with the Deep Abyss. To make our characters' meeting easier though let's have the door-crystal be in the Norn Terrarium rather than the Norn Meso though - that way when Brax discovers the door-crystal in the Abyss he'll end up in the Terrarium instead of the opposite side of the ship from, probably, most everyone else. Or, alternatively, since she's amphibious, it'd give her a way to find her way into the Abyss eventually. Assuming the Abyss has the basic marine setup - its own native plants plus Zander Fish/Mites, Shrimpton, maybe Crobsters? Let me know if there's anything else in there - perhaps surprise him with a Rainbow Shark swimming out of the depths or something? Marine Terrarium fish and plants? Those Biodome anemones would be great since geddonase is healthy for him, but there's so many possibilities I didn't want to assume more than the basics he'd need to survive in there and which you as the Hand would've been very unlikely to have not provided even if running a relatively unmodified world - without Zander Fish and Shrimpton he'd have none of the basic food he needs, so those were a given, as were the plants that come with the metaroom. It's up to you what else might be in there! Also, since you said the Dragon Skulls are near the exits, I'm assuming in this case it's near the door-crystal on the bottom.)

Placed on the bone shelf in the Deep Abyss, the egg from the Genetics Kit sat for an unusually long time. If the Hand hadn't known better, the egg might have seemed like a dud, or as if it wasn't going to hatch due to being underwater. But the oops-egg had hatched underwater, so this one couldn't be inhibited due to that. The embryo was just taking its time to develop, apparently; or else it had an unusual number of instincts it needed to dream about before hatching occurred.

In spite of knowing that nothing serious could be going wrong - after all, the other Hand who'd made the genome must have tested it before passing it out - this Hand may have begun to worry after a minute or so with no sign of life from the egg. But then, all of a sudden, a moving shadow appeared within, and the familiar sound of an egg rocking and breaking open could be heard by the Hand even through the waters of the Deep Abyss. At last!

Within another few seconds, the egg broke in half, and the newborn Norn rolled out of it onto the bony shelf, falling a little bit since the egg had been perched on the lift, which was raised above the level of the actual shelf. It was only a short fall, but it was still a fall. Some Norns might have gone 'ouch!' in that moment, but the newborn was covered in richly colored scales - indigo and violet mostly, with bright turquoise on his arms and wings - instead of the soft fur that most Norns exhibited. More importantly in this particular case, he lacked a stimulus gene for 'impact after falling'. Thus, although the baby Norn knew he had just gone over an edge and landed on a hard surface, that meant little to him - he felt no pain or fear, or indeed, anything, in response to that fact, so therefore he paid it no mind, and soon forgot it had ever happened.

Content to stay where he'd landed for the first few moments of his life, the newborn Norn looked around, blinking, taking in this place he'd hatched into. He was underwater, and at first, bubbles rose from his mouth and nostrils as he tried using his lungs - to his surprise, without success. Just as he started feeling a little woozy and the dim beginnings of an anxiety he instinctively knew was drowning-fear, he felt a deep chemical prompting and realized he had another option for breathing. Accordingly, the baby Norn sucked water in through his mouth, expelling it through the gills on the sides of his neck behind his jawline. Immediately the air-bubbles from his struggling lungs disappeared, and he felt the airways to them close off naturally now that he was no longer attempting to use them in this place where they - apparently - were not meant to work. It was fine. It turned out could breathe here after all. After that, the baby Norn felt much better. The bad feelings from trying to breathe with his lungs were gone within moments of switching to his gills.

By now, he'd been named. Having worked out this whole 'breathing' thing and feeling pretty good, the baby Norn felt an urge to express himself, so he did, although he had little to actually say. So he just said, "Braxton bibble." He didn't know the word 'express' yet, so it just came out as, well, bibble, instead of 'Braxton express'. That didn't matter to Braxton. He was content with his bibble for now. After all, there didn't seem to be anyone around to hear him. Instinctively he knew there ought to be a Hand somewhere around here, but at that moment, the Hand was observing Bell in the Norn Terrarium and so was not visible or apparent to Braxton. Being alone puzzled Braxton. It seemed as if there ought to be some other creatures like himself around, if not this 'Hand' thing he had no name for yet but instinctively knew existed. But he seemed to be alone.

It was chilly where he was, high up on the bone shelf, but he could smell that there was warmth nearby, somewhere down below. Also, Braxton was hungry, and he thought he saw movement down there. Braxton crawled to the edge of the bone shelf and looked down. Yep, there was stuff down there. A lot of stuff. He saw the 'weather' rising from the heat-sources (the volcanic sea-vents) at the bottom of the metaroom, a colorful forest of shapes he didn't know a word for yet (but which were in fact plants), and other colorful shapes that, unlike the first group, moved and darted about on their own instead of staying rooted to a single spot down there. Most of them weren't even limited to the bottom, instead moving up and down and all around through the water. It was pretty amazing, but for some reason, seeing all of this also made Braxton feel... well, pretty hungry! Now that he was paying attention to it, a lot of it seemed like it might be edible. But where to start?

Some of these colorful swimming things - they were fish, though he didn't have a word for critters yet, like everything else - moved very fast, moving together in oddly coordinated groups, changing direction frequently. This particular group of objects, the fish, got his attention above everything else. Something about them made him want very much to approach and grab one. He remembered, vaguely, that before he'd hatched, he'd dreamed about being hungry, and eating one of those moving things. It had made him not hungry anymore when he dreamed about it. So maybe he should try that now, since he was hungry now. Braxton was only a baby, but that made sense to him.

By now, his body had recognized that he was underwater and begun producing Swimmerase. Braxton was not consciously aware of this at first, but when he felt a desire to approach the fish-critters, he suddenly realized that crawling wasn't going to work. He couldn't crawl unless he was on a surface, and the fish were out there in the water. Braxton reached for them, but they were too far away - his tiny claws just couldn't stretch that far. No - this wouldn't do. There had to be another way to get to those enticing, moving things...

And just as Braxton had that thought, he felt something in his body change. His Swimmerase levels were now high enough to be functional, and that combined with his desire to reach the fish-critters activated his ability to swim. Braxton felt himself rising gently upward into the water, moved by nothing more than his desire to move. Now this was pretty cool! Immediately, he looked around and zeroed in on a nearby fish-critter. He wasn't sure why, but that one appealed to him above all the others at that moment. That was the one!

So he began to swim, moving his body not so differently than if he were crawling, but experiencing the very different sensation of rising upward through the water, changing direction with only the slightest desire and movement. Swimming was natural to his breed, and he picked it up very quickly. Within moments he was moving as quickly as the fish he pursued - which, sensing danger, was doing its best to avoid him. But Braxton was enjoying the chase, and didn't allow the fish's attempts to escape to deter him. In addition to being hungry and wanting to eat the fish, he discovered that - just as he remembered vaguely from his pre-hatching dreams - it was pretty fun just to chase the fish around, too, so he had no reason not to pursue it as it fled through the dark water.

Trying to evade him, the fish-critter dove toward the warmer bottom waters, but Braxton followed. The fish reached a school of its own kind and slowed automatically, hoping to be lost among the others that looked just like it. But it didn't work. Braxton's fixed attention on that particular critter had never wavered, so he could easily pick it out from the others. And unlike the fish, Braxton never slowed down. Moments after the hapless Zander Fish tried to hide among the school of fellow Zanders, Braxton was within grabbing range. Immediately, a new instinct activated for the first time and urged him to grab the fish, take hold of it, so he did so before it could get away again.

He had caught the fish! Braxton was proud of himself. He treaded water for several seconds, looking out into the water at no one in particular, grinning widely. There was no one around to share his happiness with, though, and the grin faded quickly. Although less prone to loneliness than earlier versions of the Dragon breeds had been, Braxton could definitely still feel that emotional drive, and it was beginning to rise, the more he realized that he was alone here except for the fish-critters and the shrimp-bugs.

"Braxton boop," the baby Dragon said, meaning 'Braxton lonely'. No one answered. It made him feel even lonelier.

But Braxton was also hungry for protein, and that drive was stronger than his loneliness, so it was only another second or two before he returned his attention to the fish-critter. For some reason, it was pretty fun just to hold onto it - but it would feel better to eat it. So Braxton did, efficiently stripping the little Zander Fish down to bones with his sharp carnivore's teeth. Left with the bones in his hand, Braxton looked at them and felt weirdly conflicted - it was the first time his unconscious mind had ever seemed to be in disagreement with itself, and he wasn't sure what to do. Although he instinctively knew that this 'detritus' could be eaten and would make him feel less hungry for carbs, he also felt strongly discouraged from eating it for no apparent reason at the same time. So despite still feeling a bit hungry for carbs, Braxton hesitated, staring at the fish bones.

Eventually he dropped them. He wasn't hungry enough to try to eat them in spite of that heavy sense of foreboding. Maybe there was something else... a bug? Yes, a bug!

Braxton occupied himself for the next minute or two with chasing and eating Shrimptons. The nutritious Shrimptons soon filled him up, but he kept chasing and grabbing them for a little while anyway just because it was fun. Now being full, he simply dropped the little water-bugs after holding them for a bit. Then the chase began again! It was pretty fun, though not as fun as fish chasing because the Shrimpton were much slower-moving and didn't go as far. So the little Dragon Norn abandoned the Shrimpton and began chasing fish, releasing them soon after taking hold of them. Soon enough, though, his loneliness overwhelmed the boredom reduction, and he stopped playing with the fish. Braxton looked around, now frowning. He was holding a fish, not letting go, to try to comfort himself, but it wasn't working well. On top of loneliness he was beginning to feel an odd sensation that he supposed was homesickness, even though he found himself longing for other Norns' company, or a positive word from a Hand, instead of a Norn Home. Having no way to know that was unusual, the Dragon Norn took that for granted. He just knew he was lonely and homesick and wished there were other Norns around. "Braxton rly boop," he sighed - Braxton very lonely...

(Leaving off here! If no one else ends up in Deep Abyss in a few posts I'll have him discover the Dragon Skull and the doorway out. :) Doesn't matter to me either way! Sorry this got so long... I tend to be longwinded with character introductions. x.x Future replies won't be so bookish, I promise!)

(Done!)

The Hand should've known better than to get a file from such a sketchy site. Especially from a person that didn't even seem to know how to make an egg agent right. This 'Mystery Egg' was in the agent injector, and when injected, the resulting oddly-colored egg appeared in the garden. The Hand decided to just leave it alone. Like Bell, if it couldn't survive on its own, it would die before passing those genes on.

Meanwhile, Bell was having the time of her life, just gorging herself on the lightmodules as the liquid from her tails behaved in all the wrong ways. Instinct told her to eat gadgets, so she just munched away without questioning. The sludge gun was spared from her wrath, though, because the moment she tried to bite into it, a bunch of sludge poured into her mouth, and she almost choked on it. The destroyed sludge gun sat there while Bell tried to eat every mechanical thing in sight, including buttons, elevators, and the wind generator, but they were impenetrable, even for her teeth, which were designed to crunch through gadgets without trouble.

The little Geat quickly gave up on trying to eat those things, glitches flaring up in annoyance. She went down the lift to the main level of the Norn Terrarium and began exploring, also trying to eat weird stuff like trout in the process and almost poisoning herself, her body not designed for digesting those kinds of things.

(I'll start mine off, I wrote this with a headache)
The mother of the egg had fur patterns and colouration which nicely complimented the hand's Desert Ruins metaroom. With the mother dead, the hand decided to place the egg there to hatch.

The little egg sat incubating in the hot sun for several seconds before finally, life began to stir within it. Chip, chip, chip, Crack! A tiny claw broke away a piece of the eggshell. The baby creature peeked outside cautiously, then began dismantling it's temporary home with a strangely methodical precision. It picked away each jagged shard and placed them into it's mouth, crunched down absentmindedly.

With the eggshell gone and the sun now fully on it's back, the little creature became overcome with the desire to lie still and soak it in. Which it did... until it's mouth started to feel dry.
"Eem exmly bop"
It didn't understand this sensation, but the drive to fix it was steadily becoming stronger than it's desire to rest in the sunlight. It pulled itself onto it's hands and feet and began to crawl away, determined to seek out a solution to this rather confusing problem for such a young creature.

(I'll have Bell enter the Deep Abyss, even though I don't know jack squat about it because it's been a while since I've used it. I'll say that the crystal thingy is on the edge of the bones. Also, I've changed my travel policy. Now, it's just 'don't travel ridiculous distances in one sentence' instead of 'don't make epic journeys in one post.')

Bell looked around the Norn Terrarium, still having not learned her lesson and trying to eat all sorts of ridiculous crap. It seemed like everything she did ended in her wanting to eat stuff she shouldn't be eating. The little Geat nibbled on a yellow star flower. To her surprise, it didn't taste awful. It was actually pretty good. Bell ate the whole thing without problems, although it messed with her systems, causing her to become completely screwed up. Her glitches became completely out of control and consumed her body for the duration of the freakout that ensued.

Bell began seeing odd things. She saw an Ettin nearby, which caused her to flip out and try to attack it. In reality, it was just a Hoppity, but her messed up wiring couldn't tell the difference between a gadget and some grass right now. The 'Ettin' then turned into a flying detritus, which caused her to just sit down for a moment and question what was happening. This flip-out lasted a while until her system sorted itself out a few minutes later, but not before Bell got attacked by a swarm of angry flowers after disturbing their fruit. With all that insanity over and done with, the Geat got herself together before standing up and taking the lift to the hill above the learning room. She saw a door in the middle of a patch of carrots, and being the curious creature she was, pushed it.

Bell suddenly found herself in water. The liquid from her tail was now behaving the way it did when she first hatched, and it was quite confusing. A fish swam past her, and she followed it, which resulted in her falling off a cliff and landing near Braxton. Her systems were still a bit bugged, so she was having a hard time telling whether he was a Norn or a button. The first thing she did was walk over and push his nose with her claw, a bit too hard.

(( It's a pretty simple room, which is part of why I chose it. :) The entrance crystal is on the 'floor' of the room, which also has various deep-sea plants/corals and suchlike in the default 'room build'. Since Bell is a buggy Geat though she ended up elsewhere. XD The only 'real' elevated surface in the actual game is that bone ledge I mentioned before. It looks like the spine of a whale or a dragon or something lying over huge rock pillars with crystals growing out of them to form a platform. It has a lift that goes up and down. Other than the crystal to get in and out, and the bone ledge, it's pretty much just open water. You can see more crystals and dinosaur-type bones and such in the background, and since this is RP they can move around in that space, but basically it's a huge underwater cavern with glowy crystals, rock pillars, and volcanic sea vents on the bottom that release smoky stuff the Creatures recognize as 'weather'. It's warm near the vents and cold up at the top but neither extreme should be enough to be a serious problem to any of the characters who can swim in the RP so far. ))

Just after expressing his feeling of loneliness, Braxton let go of the fish. Holding onto it made him feel less bored, but it did nothing to make him feel better otherwise. So he released the fish and ignored it as it swam away in relief. He liked this big, dark, watery place he'd hatched into, in general, but it was no fun all by himself. He needed to find some others. Since the teleporter-door crystal's 'entrance' side was currently placed in the Norn Terrarium, CAs wafted through to the 'exit' Crystal and into the Deep Abyss, though they didn't carry far in the water. Still, Braxton happened to have drifted close enough to detect the smells coming through. They were similar in some ways to the smells he was growing familiar with, but different in others.

In particular, there was a smell he recognized as belonging to a creature sort of like himself. Not a Norn, but he was so starved for company that he began moving toward the scent anyway. As he got close, he found a large object he instinctively recognized as something that was good to play with. Although not in much of a mood to play, this object was oddly compelling - not in the same way the fish were, which felt like an internal attraction, but as if it had some property of its own that was catching his attention. Intrigued in spite of himself, Braxton paused beside the Sacred Dragon Skull and pushed it experimentally.

The eyes of the skull glowed dimly for a moment, then went dark again. In that moment, Braxton experienced an almost painfully vast inrush of information, as if the skull had somehow put a bunch of things into his head all at once. Suddenly, the concept of -words- existed for Braxton, and moreover, he knew the words that went with everything around him, even though no such thing had been true just moments before. Did the toy - for now he could recognize the Dragon Skull by its object class - make that happen somehow? Curious, he pushed it again, then pulled it, but nothing new happened. The eyes still glowed, and it was still fun, but that bizarre, sudden gain of knowledge did not repeat itself. Braxton was slightly disappointed, but only a little bit. He felt like he knew plenty of words now, anyway.

While he was playing with the Sacred Dragon Skull, the door-crystal suddenly glowed brightly, throwing out much more light than the baby dragon Norn had seen at once before in his short life. He began to retreat from it, startled by the change. It wasn't really that bright a glow, but in the dimness of the Abyss it seemed brilliant. There was a quiet sound, in the same moment, that Braxton thought was made by the crystal, though he wasn't sure how that could be.

And then, just as abruptly, the crystal went back to the way it was before, giving off only a faint, dim radiance, like the other crystals in the cave. He could still sense that one crystal was special, though, different from the others, and he even knew what to call it now - it was a 'door'. But his interest in that door was significantly reduced, because the unfamiliar smell that had seemed to be coming into the water from the other side of the door wasn't there anymore. What happened?

Then he heard a soft sound as something landed way up on the bone shelf, or maybe on one of the rocky ledges or pillars way up high in the cold part of the water. A moment later, that something fell off the edge and landed not too far away from Braxton, poofing up the silty sand on the bottom. He blinked in surprise. The smell of the Other was much stronger now, and he felt as if he'd almost reached the source of it, even though he himself hadn't moved. That must mean that the thing that just fell off the bone shelf, or the rocks, or whatever, that must be --

And then it poked him hard on the nose. Braxton, who was only a baby and didn't have the best balance yet, wobbled and fell onto his butt, his little tail curling automatically around his side to avoid sitting on it. Braxton stared at the other creature. He wasn't sure what to make of her, and he definitely didn't like being bopped on the nose! He rubbed his scaly muzzle with his clawed hands, glaring a little. "Braxton angry. Braxton maybe hit Norn," he grumbled - he didn't really mean it, though. He was only a little annoyed. The pain wasn't bad and it was already fading away. Besides, he was pretty sure that this other creature was not a Norn. It was more like him than the fish and the shrimp were, though, so being around it still made him feel a little better. Calming down, Braxton pushed himself upright in the wobbly way babies have and reached out a claw of his own toward the Other - not violently, just curiously. "What?" The dragon Norn asked, meaning what is this?

"Me Bell!" Bell introduced herself after shaking the remaining screwiness out of her wiring and seeing that Braxton was, in fact, a Norn and not a button. Her voice was a bit hard to understand, and getting too close to her brought on a tingling sensation.

The small red egg sat in the garden, growing slowly. It had been injected in Albia's springtime, and it wasn't until the beginning of summer that the strange creature within began to stir, chipping away at the brightly colored shell and tumbling out into a soft patch of grass. He sat dumbfounded for a few seconds, blinking in the sun. The smell of fruit surrounded him. "Etn coo!" he babbled, and picked up a squishy red thing that smelled particularly strong, trying to shove the whole thing in his mouth at once before attempting more sensible bites. It was delicious. The blue and yellow things scattered around were just as filling and juicy, but not quite as tasty.

After a short rest, Vic was feeling very bored. "Vivi vre bibble," he announced, and set off in search of something entertaining. It was getting hotter and hotter the further he went. Suddenly, a horrible beast lunged at him! It had him pinned down and was trying to eat him, no matter how hard he struggled he could not free himself from the thing's grasp. It took him a while to realize that the animal wasn't, in fact, trying to eat him. It was just licking his face. Instinct told him to pet it, so he reached out to tickle its wet nose, which it seemed to enjoy. He was able to pull out from under it and settle next to it, petting its soft silky fur. "Vivi flub dut!" The animal seemed to tire of his affections quickly, and scampered away.

Heading back in the other direction in search of more squishy red things, Vic noticed a box big enough to stand inside. He climbed in and accidentally hit one of the buttons. The box was now shuttling upwards giving him vertigo. "Vivi u buup!" Vic crouched down in the bottom of the box which, once it had reached its destination, dumped him out onto a platform. It was dark now, and this new place made him feel scared. He shut his eyes and hoped the light would be back when he opened them, soon falling asleep.

Edit: Does C2toDS have a teleporter in and out of the room? I can't remember and I'm not installing it just to find out :P

The little creature shuffled around in the sand for several minutes, unearthed strange plants as it went. It tried biting into one of them but the plant's outer cuticle was tough and waxy and just made the creature's mouth even dryer than before.

"Eem exmly bop"

It repeated in dismay, flopping onto it's rear and looking around sullenly. Then something strange caught it's eye. An orange object was hovering just above the sand, It crawled closer to investigate. Smells were coming from it... and one of these smells was enticing.

Puzzled, the creature held out a claw to gently tap the object. it glowed brighter at the contact, then a strange sensation overcame the creature and it yelped in surprise, falling backwards onto - to the creature's even greater surprise - a hard stone floor.

The sun was no longer beating down on it's back... somehow, it had moved! The cave it found itself in was cool, orange things grew from the walls and at one end a number of other, curious objects were clustered together. It approached one of the objects, the enticing smell was coming from within. The top appeared to open up so it stretched as high as it could to peer inside. Unfortunately, the little creature was not very adept at using it's body yet, It lost balance and fell against the object, sending it crashing down and spilling it's contents all across the ground.

Something wet and sticky licked at the creature's feet as the smell became overpoweringly pungent. It crouched down and began lapping up it's mess. The taste was sharp and it made the creature feel weird and dizzy, but at least it's mouth wasn't dry anymore! It leaned against another object as it attempted to get up and yet another strange thing happened. Suddenly, the creature knew what everything was... that thing it had just pushed over? That was a 'dispenser', the thing it had just leaned against? That was a 'toy', and the third thing that was right next to the toy? That was a 'door'... or was it a 'teleporter'?

Finally starting to understand this new world it found itself in filled the creature with joy! But... there was still one more thing that needed a name. It scrunched it's face into a frown, no one had told it what it's own name was yet... did that mean it could make one itself? It pondered this for a while then smiled gleefully, It knew exactly what to call itself!

"Drascel happy."

((Alright!))

The Hand booted up the world after a long period of not so much as looking at it. They had just finished a Wolfling Run in another world that actually mostly consisted of cheating, leaving them alone, splicing new genes in, and then cheating again. They had an egg from that run, and they were going to put it in the Norn Terrarium, just to see how it would do. They placed the egg on the grass, where it would hopefully hatch and survive. There was also the added potential of hilarity ensuing due to the nearby Amethyst Berries, but the Norns in that Wolfling Run were often carnivorous, so they weren't counting on it.

A large yellow egg rocked gently to itself in the grass. A cracking sound emanated at odd intervals from it.
A grazer grunted and prodded the egg with its snout, causing the egg to roll over and crack open against the ground. The whole grazer herd stampeded as a small green head poked out of the ruins of the egg. "Eem bibble!" The head announced, and dragged itself out of the pile of eggshell.
Once completely free of the egg, the little norn looked around her, staring with wide eyed wonder at - everything! The grass, the flowers, the birds and animals! It was all incredible.
The norn took a few hesitant, wobbly steps. She felt the cool, damp grass brush her ankles and wrists, watched the towering trees above her.
An ant scuttled past her, and she picked it up, staring at its six waving legs. It looked - tasty. She tried putting it in her mouth.
It did taste good. She swallowed and beamed, pleased. She rattled the spines on her head in pleasure.
She ate a few more insects, before a soft, heavy feeling overcame her. She curled up in the grass, closed her eyes, and began to snore.

Drascel pushed against the 'door-teleporter' thing and found himself in a cold brown corridor. It felt dark and oppressive, Drascel didn't like that. All around were things he knew to be called 'gadgets'. For some reason he was eerily drawn to these objects, he approached one and pushed a claw against it, it beeped and a little light flashed a different colour. A shiver of excitement ran down his spine, this was exciting!

But the cold in the room was starting to make Drascel feel sluggish. He grabbed the gadget and walked down the hall, entering the first door he reached to feel the sweet, warm relief of the temperate air inside. At the end of the hall he spotted another object, this he knew to be called an 'incubator' which he also instinctively knew to be warm. He approached the incubator and sat down underneath it and started tinkering with his new gadget, humming a happy little tune to himself while he played.

(Drascel has entered the Norn Terrarium)

When the norn woke up, everything was much the same. She blinked blearily and lay in the grass for a minute or two, watching dragonflies. When she became bored with this, she scrambled to her feet and decided to go exploring.
She thumped an exiting flashing thing on a stick for quite a long time. It caused an oval box to fly out of the sky and land beside her. She blinked at this, and muttered "Eem vre gaa."
Gently, she put out a hand to touch the box. It was cold, hard and slippery under her fingers. She blinked, tried prodding it, and when nothing terrible happened she actually stepped up to it. There were two bright coloured things in the middle of it. They looked nice. She hit one of them, and then screeched when the box snapped walls shut and hurtled off through the air.
Thankfully the terrifying ride was soon over, and the poor norn collapsed out of the box onto the spongy floor outside.
She crawled away from the box as fast as she could go, calling it every name she could think of. Most of these names went along the lines of "bibble".
She pressed herself against the wall, and managed to calm down. This was an extremely strange place, a long, cream coloured corridor, with strange patterns and protuberances in the wall. At one end of the corridor she spotted a strange, white thing. It seemed a little - repulsive somehow. But repulsive-interesting. She tiptoed toward it.

Drascel stopped humming and looked up as a soft whooshing sound signaled a large oval box he knew to be called an 'elevator' descending into the corridor. As the doors opened another creatures stepped... or rather fell out and collapsed onto the ground underneath.

It's scent reached Drascel quickly, from it he could deduce that this creature was a female Norn. She looked much like him, she had similar wings and her body was covered in scales though her form was much more slender than his own bulky body. She also had striking violet eyes and they were looking directly at him... no, they were looking at the gadget in his hands?

She was now approaching cautiously, seemingly transfixed on his new-found 'toy'. Maybe she wanted to play too? He got up unsteadily on his hind legs and approached her too, holding the gadget out for her with a big smile on his face.

"Norn get gadget?"

The norn blinked at this odd creature standing in front of her. He was holding the thing, and making a strange noise. He was smiling too. She blinked once or twice and managed a smile of her own. Then she prodded the metallic smelling object and asked "Dis?"

"Gadget." Drascel explained and poked one of the buttons on the side making a little light flash and a short siren sound.

He didn't check the other Norn's reaction, he didn't really care. He placed the gadget on the ground in front of her and fell unceremoniously onto his rump and started scratching at the metal where it looked like the object could open up.

"Get at gadget." He muttered, frowning while struggling to think of the words he was looking for. "Pull da gadget. Hit dis gadget..."
