I'm reading an online translation of the novel series The Twelve Kingdoms. Really good. Strong female protagonists, a well developed fantasy world that has some really unique ideas, and great character development. There is also an anime based off of it, though the novels cover a lot more. Small bird who lives here sometimes, and wanders other times. Got Creatures related content to share? I forgot to post saying that I was reading The Intrepid Enchanter (L. Sprague de Camp and Fletcher Pratt) a while back, which I've finished now. Currently I am reading The Sword of Shannara, which is by Terry Brooks. |

I've recently read Manuel Gonzales's "The Miniature Wife" for my college class. I usually don't like the stuff they give us to read, but this was a pretty nice exception. They're all fantastical/magical realist stories that introduce a character or two dealing with a fantastical issue, then leave it on a cliffhanger. There's one story about a completely paralysed artist who talks through his ears that I really enjoyed. Do not upset the ugly worm, lest it be a dragon in disguise. (>oo)> |

Dune's great, isn't it? I'm reading Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson at the moment. Enjoying it, it just gets a little tedious at times. What is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything? 42! |

In a fit of utter madness, I am reading three books at once at the moment:* To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee; Mother Tongue, by Bill Bryson and Torchwood: Another Life, by Peter Anghelides. Also it's funny, I haven't been on CreaturesCaves for ages but reading back through the last few posts I realise that I was reading Nineteen Eighty-Four at more-or-less the exact same time as Zurinsel13 was. Huh. *NOTE: This does not mean that I am literally trying to read all three of them at the exact same moment in time. That would be incredibly stupid. Viva las Vegas - or not, it's up to you. |
