I'm just a bundle of questions as of late! lol, thank you all for being patient with me.
So I've bought a new laptop and I've re-installed my Creatures games (all of them) from GOG. On my old computer I've copied/pasted the folders for "Creatures Exodus" onto my external hard drive and then copy/pasted to my new computer in the GOG folder, writing over any files already there. I was hoping this process would install the games properly (which it did) and then add in my creatures, agents, and worlds. However, when I open DS on my new computer my worlds aren't there.
The Creatures Exodus folder is in C: drive > Program Files (x86) > GOG Galaxy > Games
... which may be the culprit or not. Am I pasting my CreExo folder in the correct place? Just want my world back...

For my GoG Creature Exodus install, a bunch of files are in my "Documents" folder, under C: \Users\Jacob\Documents\Creatures\
e.g. my worlds are under C: \Users\Jacob\Documents\Creatures\Docking Station\My Worlds
Hopefully you'll find your worlds there. |

I'd highly recommend installing the games into your My Documents folder, as it means that whenever you install a new cob the game will be able to access its files automatically.
Some people have had issues, however, when installing the game from the aforementioned location, even some as severe as it uninstalling their entire My Documents folder, so I thought I'd give you a heads up just in case. |

Good news and bad news!
The good news is that worked, so thank you so much Zzzzoot!
The bad news is I'm getting an error message on both my old and new computer telling me "Memory has run out - please reboot, free some space on your system drive, and run the game again." ... Of course my new laptop has a Tb of space so it can't be my computer... I don't know. I really hope I didn't just lose everything.

Yep, she seems kapoot. Not sure I can get around this one. It's just so strange, I have *plenty* of memory on my computer so it's clearly an issue with the game itself.
I just wish I could get all my creatures out of the game. Goodness, and the eggs! Ugh, why are the Creatures games so buggy?!?!?!?

As long as you keep the folders for the worlds you want, you should be able to reopen the worlds later with all the creatures in them.
I'd recommend you copy, for safekeeping, everything you can find under both ".../Documents/Creatures" and ".../GOG Galaxy/Games/Creatures Exodus" to somewhere else (you shouldn't need any of it if you saved your world's folders already and don't have any exported creatures, but it's better to save too much than delete too much). Then uninstall the game. Then go back to those two folders and delete anything remaining. Then reinstall the game. Then reinstall your agents. Then make a new world and inject all the agents (so the game copies all the images and stuff to the right places). Then copy the folders for your worlds back to the ".../Documents/.../My Worlds folder. Then you should be able to open your worlds.
That's all I've got. But just be sure to have extra copies of your worlds. In case something goes wrong. |

I don't think it's referring to storage. It's referring to working memory. RAM, rather than hard drive space. Do you have other programs open? Maybe malware running in the background stealing system resources? Try checking if it's really the game putting such a draw on your machine. If it is, the next step is figuring out why, but if it's not, dealing with the other system hogs may well fix the problem.

Oooo that's a good idea, Zzzzoot! I'll try that!
And I can't imagine it's RAM either, this laptop has some crazy specs on it.

It's worth a look, just in case. You never know.

Didn't some on discord mention something about DS' memory allocation bugging out? I've had the same error at one point, but I couldn't say how it stopped. Randomly, it seemed. |

First of all I would like to say thank you thank you thank you to each of you who have responded to this issue.
Unfortunately nothing worked and that's that on that.
This has gotten way more complicated than it ever should and at the moment I'm trying to use my regular ol' GOG install of DS. I've just hunted down a working version of the Login Disabler and I'm ready to re-install everything! (hopefully)
Thanks again!
