So after all the trouble to find the silly thing, now I can't get it to work. It will open, and seem normal. I can even choose and load a genome. But that's when it goes bad. I can look at the list of genes, even scroll through it, but if I try to sort them, or click on any gene at all, the program instantly freezes for a few seconds, then autokills itself. I've tried all kinds of compatibility mode and admin mode settings - no dice. At first I thought it might just be the enormousness of my dragon genomes, so I tried some ordinary smaller ones, but nope, still happens.
Has anyone had this problem? I'm on Windows 10. But my desktop was also Windows 10 and Genetics Kit worked fine there, so I'm really confused right now. The laptop is a newer and more powerful machine, and it runs Docking Station itself much better than my desktop. So the fact that the Genetics Kit won't work makes me want to scream. I was so hoping to work on the Abyss Dragon brainedits again.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. I can get it to lay eggs into DS so long as I don't attempt to look at or modify the genome itself, which will let me play with my old work at least, but I can't do any updates or repairs.

Are you running Albian Warp? I read that it can cause conflicts when run alongside programs such as the Genetics Kit. |

Nope. I'm using the standard "play offline" patch.

I'm currently experiencing this very problem, on both my laptop and my older tablet pc. Has anyone found a fix for this?
Maybe television streaming service and lower the temperature |

Alas, no, I never did. I found workarounds by using a third-party genetics editor and the Egg Maker agent, but I never did get Genetics Kit itself to work.
Of course, now I'm on a new laptop and have to find the silly thing to download once more... so maybe it will work now when I get it? But, yeah, I ended up using GeneEdit or something like that? I forgot the name. Sorry. x.x

Did anyone ever get this figured out? If not, what are some good alternative programs to try out?
EDIT: Moving the files for the Genetics Kit from Program Files (x86) to my desktop and then running it through the "test program" feature in the standard Windows 10 troubleshooter makes it function normally... Weird. I'm still open to alternatives. |
