GOG Creatures 2 Password Locking Issues | |

Hello everyone! Sorry to be continually posting about issues with Creatures 2, but I've unfortunately been having quite a few problems.
In particular, I've been having trouble with creating new worlds. When I create a new world, if I choose not to password lock it, the next time I try to open it, it'll tell me the password is incorrect (but I never set one!).
If I create a new world and choose to password lock it (I don't mind having to use passwords if it really wants me to), the next time I try to open it, the password is still incorrect - and yes, I'm sure I am entering the correct password!
I even tried simply creating a copy of the original world.sfc to see if I could "cheat the system" that way - and upon opening the copy, I got a message saying that the world "was not created using the World Switcher applet", "no password has been created", and "you will not have to enter a password" - and then it tells me my password is incorrect!
To provide a little more information on the specifics, I am using the GOG version of Creatures 2 on Windows 10. The game functions perfectly from a technical standpoint aside from this. I don't mind only having to play on one world, but it would be useful to be able to have more than one. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated! Thank you!

Try setting your password to something extremely simple, like "a". You might be being derpy, but it might be a silly tech issue.
Have you tried the obvious "turn it off and on again" and "uninstall, restart, then reinstall C2"? |

Well, that's bizarre - "a" worked, but longer strings of characters such as "aaaa" (and I copy-pasted to make sure I was entering it correctly) do not. I tried making increasingly short passwords - "aaa" and "aa" did not work. "b", on the other hand, worked.
So I guess only single-character passwords work? That's really strange, but I mean, it's a working solution! Um, thanks! I wonder what causes bugs like this.
