Docking Station Population Control?

I already have the Population Control Panel, but even so, these 2017 Siamese norns are breeding like flies and it keeps hitting the breeding limit (32) so that I end up with like 10 eggs laying around.

The problem is probably that the room I have them in (Chione) has no actual hazards. I should probably introduce some, but precisely which kinds of hazards can I add that won't commit genocide?

I don't know if grendals are exactly good at their jobs of being a predator, bacteria can cause a extinction via ATP Decoupler, weeds are ineffective because only baby/child norns are dumb enough to eat them without being told to, and the C1-to-DS exploding carrots feel too cruel. lol

Not a way for natural selection, just an idea ... do you know the Population Control Options agent from amaikokonut? You could use it to keep your norns invertile after a number of eggs or export the older norns or something.

I have that on, but even then, my population is so huge (hovering on 30-32, with 32 being max breeding limit) that if I don't turn on the Export if Old Age/Export after fathering/mothering 4 children options aren't on, I end up with more eggs than an easter egg hunt. With those options on though, the My Creatures folder is getting filled up quite quickly. lol

Putting hazards down would be risky, Creatures are not good at recognizing them so you'd either eventually get an extinction event or no effect at all.

It wouldn't effect the existing population, but if you have the genetics kit, you could try raising the chemical half-life of the libido lowerer chemical in the genome you're using to make your creatures harder to breed. Failing that you could try a different genome base, CFFs would probably be the hardest to breed out of control.

You could purge excess eggs with an Ovicidal Machine, so that only the best breeders are likely to have eggs survive to hatching.

Alternatively, you didn't say whether this was an afk wolfing run or you're there supervising them, but if you are, you could periodically cull out all but the best norns by hand. Anyone with high drives that isn't taking care of themselves, etc.

I seem to recall an agent that would export norns based on percentage of the population, where every time it fired it would remove, say, 25% of the breeding population and you could choose whether to kill them or export them. Is that one of the subfeatures of the Pop. Control Panel or am I remembering a different agent? Autokilling excess norns would keep your folder cleaner.
