C3/DS 'end game' /info request

Hi all!

I'm really excited to see there is still a creatures community out there! I began playing C1 back when it first came out and I was a kid, I played through to C3, but never realized the complexity of the game as I was too young.

I just purchased it again off gog and was reading there is a way to train up your norns to get them to fly the ship- and I'e been trying to find info on what this even means/how to do it, but can't find any. Does anyone have any links to tutorials on what this is all about? or is someone knowledgeable and kind enough to explain this to me?

I played the game heaps as a kid, but was pretty shallow in that, I'm curious now to see what getting a functional norn community actually means... any help or pointers would be appreciated.

my second query is I'd also be keen for pointers on what additional dl content I can get from here or elsewhere to improve the game, I can see there are quite a few around, but wonder if anyone has any recommendations?

thanks heaps :)

Welcome to Creaturescaves! Always good to see some new members check in. :D

If this is of any help to you: Some time ago I wrote a guide to installing C3 and DS. It also features some recommended agents to patch up your game.

What exactly do you mean by 'fly the ship'? As far as I know the ships (in both C3 and DS) are entirely static.

If you need any of the Mall breeds, which you had to pay for back in the day, PM me. I might know someone who can get you the .Exe files to add their egg agents to your game. We aren't allowed to host them here, as Gameware didn't want us to, but allowed us to share them privately.

Zizzer, I think that training your norns up to fly the ship was just flavour text. :(

If anyone owns or knows the whereabouts of the mall-only breed packs, we ask that they please keep all discussion about sharing them to private message or e-mail, rather than advertising such in the public forums. See this topic for more details: Looking for the Mall Breeds? Look Here!

Thanks! I hope that helps. :)

thanks for the replies- yes, I do think it's a bit of liberty in the game description as I'd never heard it before either.

on the gog site it says: ' Raise and train a troupe of cuddly virtual life creatures that live on the Capillata space ship and help them reach the level of advancement sufficient to fly it. ' in the description.

I've added a few breeds and extra world spaces, having fun rediscovering this charming game!

That's definitely GoG taking liberties.

Nonetheless, you can still rig up some connecting agents to make life on the Ark a little more comfortable, like rigging up a contact sensor to the Cheese Machine.
