Help Forum Trying to clone a dead norn    Loke      6/8/2018 So one of my favourite norns died not too long ago, but I had his moniker set aside. Sadly, his genome file seems to be gone, but I found a different file with his moniker, I think it was a s16 or a c16. Is there any way to convert that into a .gen file so I can inject him back in and give him another shot? Thanks.   Sanely Insane RisenAngel Manager     6/8/2018 The file you likely found was an image; namely, that file has any photos you might have taken across the norn's lifespan (or at least the one that the game automatically takes upon a creature's birth and, in DS, death). If you're looking for the genome, there's two places to check: your world's "Genetics" and "Attic" folder. They aren't the same as the main "Genetics" folder in the game's directory; they're located in "My Worlds/<World Name>." If the genome wasn't in the Genetics folder, it's likely in the Attic folder. I'll check back if it isn't there (Or in any other folders). I'm using devthing currently, couldn't get the genetics kit to work, but is there a better program for injecting norns? By the way, I wanted to also thank you for all the cool Grendel genomes and breeds you made. They've already brought me hours of happiness and sorrow with their antics, and it isn't everyday that I get to interact with such a prolific programmer 😹   Loke   6/8/2018 It wasn't in the basement, although I found another norn there that I was looking for. The Attic folder is the one that holds unused genetic files. If that folder isn't there and the norn's genome isn't in the world's Genetics folder, then unfortunately it's probably indeed gone. ~ The Realm ~ Risen Angel's Creatures Blog
