I wanted to make the topic title "Is it possible to make a Creatures 2 world which is bigger/smaller than the original one?" but I couldn't fit all that in the title so I decided on going with a "square" world title instead.
I wonder if it would be possible to create a C2 world that is bigger or smaller than the original one. Optionally without a 'wraparound' point. Because wraparaounds are a PITA.
Is this possible or are there... engine limitations?
Also could someone point me towards a... guide on how to build C2 worlds?
Thanks for any and all input.

The size of the world is hard-coded in C1 and C2. The wraparound point may also be, but I'm not sure. Here's a guide in German. |

I always thought it would be cool to make a dungeon crawl C2 world. The norns would have a nice little nursery area on the "surface" where they could walk into the woods and gather food and toys.
If they decended down they would end up in more hostile environment, a series of ever deepening rooms with dangers and rewards for those brave enough to explore them. Maybe a grendel den somewhere down there. If a norn could get to the very bottom then there would be some kind of trigger and the run would be over with a "winner". |

That is a super cool world idea, NornBreeder! |

Wouldn't this be too much for their tiny brains, though? It's not like they can really learn that things are dangerous etc, so if any of the Norns would manage to get down there, it would just be by chance, and even then it would probably allmost never happen, as they navigate by chance as well (when a C2 Norn uses a lift, it isn't because it needs something below or above it, like in C3. It just randomly pushed the elevator).
Maybe I am missing the point? |

Them randomly finding their way down there as the population grows would be the point for me. I'd love to run wolfling runs with an end-goal of norns reaching the furthest cavern by their own exploration and survival skills.
I kinda really want to make this happen now, lol. |

Also, it would be nice to have a world that is brain friendly and fully functional lol |
