C2 COB that removes the mushroompatches?

The mushroom patches confuse the Norns, ase they can be eaten by pushing and/or pulling them, so I would like to remove them from my worlds, to help my Norns get better eating habits.

Are there any COBs for Creatures 2 that remove stuff you point the hand at, or something like that?

There were a lot of Remover COBs on Mummy's Creatures when it went down. Not sure if they're still available anywhere. There are probably sprays to remove all kinds of unwanted plants... somewhere. I also remember at least one COB which actually changed those mushrooms so they were eaten by eating instead of pushing/pulling.

Are you thinking of the Plant-B-Gone COB, ylukyun? :)

I think so. Will that work on mushroom patches though? I think they're classified as fruit.

I'm not sure about that and I'm not able to test whether it'll still work or not... Maybe Yme could use some more Fruit Bats. :P

There's a spade COB I have used for years. Works on pretty much everything but the badplant seeds on the rope bridge. Spade!

I love that spade. Use it all the time.

The spade worked! :D

I tried using the bats first, but it was a litle bit tricky to have to wait for night, then track them down and drop them on top og the patches ;P

Glad you've found something that works! I totally forgot about the spade. If I knew how to COBble, I'd be well up for creating extra Fruit Bats for Creatures 2. :)

I really want to learn how to makes COBs, mess with genetics, and edit rooms.

There are so many things in C2 that need fixing. The Norns, even the official ones, aren't really that dumb, but they get messed up by bad COBs, like the toy balls, most of the instruments, the spin top... I believe the only toy that actually does its job (ie activates, and reduces need for pleasure only by being pushed) is the tomato gun.

I know nothing about coding at all, but if I just learned how to code for C2, the Norns would work pretty well.

Do you have a list of bad default objects? That'd be a great start. :)

Almost every single toy that comes with the game. They function the way they were intended, but they aren't brain friendly.

The only toy that works in a way that Norns can handle, are the tomato guns. Every toy that does anything with any other command than push, is non brain friendly.

If a toy reduces need for pleasure in Norns who hear them, like the balls when they bounce, they mess up the Norn brain.
A norn can learn that eating toys reduce need for plesaure, if it picks up the balls, eats it, then drops it, as the act of dropping it makes it bounce, which reduces need for pleasure... The norn will then try to eat all toys, which doesn't work, then they will not be able to reduce need for pleasure, which keeps the drive high, which leads to dysfunction, as Norns get really confused when multiple drives are high (multiple high drives lead to feeding and sleeping problems)

So, the balls should only reduce need for pleasure in the Norn that pushes it, and the bounce itself should do nothing.

The spin top has a push and a pull activation. The pull activates the spintop, but produces no need for pleasure decrease. It should only work by being pushed. All toys should only do anything when being pushed.

The drums do not reduce need for pleasure.

The wind up toys, like the car and dog, stop working while they play their animation. They should be able to be activated multiple times, even while the animation is being played.

The saxomophones do not reduce need for pleasure, and has a "hit" activation, it seems.

These are the ones I can think of, off the top of my head.

The mushroom patches can be eaten by both pushing and pulling them, as well as by being eaten. This is a big offender when it comes to Norns that have problems with eating.

The nuts and tomatos are classified as fruit, but can't be eaten in most stages of their lives. This is already fixed by a few COBs I uploaded in the forum.

I made a quick tutorial on how to make a remover COB with BOBCOB that you might be interested in.
