Hey! New to docking station | |

So, I've played Creatures 3, eons ago. I discovered that DS exists and thought I'd get it to work. With some headaches, I've accomplished it, mostly, but now I've reached a point that I'm stuck on:
I'm not sure if agents are being loaded into the game. The agents I've downloaded don't appear on the list of injectable agents, and I have no idea if there's some hidden teleport to the metarooms I'm trying to install. Is there, uhh, something I'm missing? If anyone's willing to help do the detective work here, I'll at least try to give you a hard puzzle with this one. XD
Best wishes to y'all! |

Welcome to Creatures Caves! I'd like to ask you a couple of questions first just to make sure I understand what your setup's like:
Where did you download your copy of Docking Station from?
Which OS are you running?
How are you installing your agent files?

In addition to more specifics, this clarification may be helpful: metarooms don't appear in your game until you inject them through the agent injector. So if nothing novel is showing in your agent injector in general, you don't need to worry about them lurking in your world.
(Exception: Metarooms that modify the world creation system, like C12DS -- which makes itself very, very obvious when installed.) |

First of all you might wanna reload the list. For that you simply go to the big comms room screen and then click on... Pretty much anything, like the defunct contact list, and then back to the agent injector. The agent injector is the !exclamation mark! in a sun. That should reload the list. Sometimes it doesn't do that properly, occasionally it acts up. Just go away, maybe re-open the world or something and then try again.
Rooms are injected via injector as well, they do not just add themselves to new worlds without asking. In the most cases they instantly take you to the fav places icon, so they are added to your list of little blue room bubbles up top (which can be navigated by clicking or scrolling with the wheel). If they don't, keep an eye out for mysterious new things that were not there before. Maybe check them too with F1 and then right clicking.

Additionally, make sure the agents you're trying to inject aren't actually considered C3 agents, not DS agents. In the agent injector, click the c3 tab on the right and see if maybe they're in there. |

Thanks for all the advice! I was actually able to figure out the issue, and it was almost annoyingly simple: I was running the game through InstallBlast.exe instead of engine.exe. Fixing that solved the problem.
Sorry, y'all. Next time I'll try to find a more confusing one!
I'm running a windows 7, and I honestly don't recall where I got DS from. Somewhere scandalous, probably. |
