Comparing two exported creatures genomes

How ca I compare two exported creatures genomes? "gene-compare" doesn't recognize the files as valid.

I really don't want to have to import every creature I want to compare to others into a world. Is there any way to do this?

Edit: Did a bit more research into this and I think I have a proper answer now.

If I'm understanding correctly, you're trying to compare .creature files of norns you've downloaded but not yet added to the game. Is this right?

In that case, what you're dealing with here are zlib compressed files. I found a tool here called Offzip and used it to decompress a .creature file into a bunch of files, including the one you need: .dna, which from what I can see hex-comparing a .dna with a .gen, they're virtually identical.

So from there, you just need to rename it from a .dna file to a .gen file, which if all goes well, should allow the comparison program to do its thing. I tested this myself and it appeared to work just fine.

Hope that helps!

You can also use the TCR Pray Decompiler.
