Creatures 2 Lag Workaround [Windows 10] | |

As everyone knows, Creatures 2 runs pretty badly on Windows 10 - even if you solve the black box issue, the game still lags to a point you can count the frames in each object's animation. The issue seems to be down to DirectDraw and the way it is handled in Windows 10.
Anyway, if you want to get rid of the lag, simply change your screen resolution to 1280x720, relaunch Creatures 2, and the game should run much smoother. I've not found a program that can do this automatically, unfortunately, but if anyone knows one please let me know.
Thanks to Jedders136 on GOG.com for finding the original solution! |

I just wish there was a fix for issues with the status bar and certain windows not displaying right.
By the way, I emailed GOG.com about the issues and hopefully they'll get back to me at some point. |

That's probably the reason I don't have much lag... I have a quite small screen resolution by default :p

Thanks. I think that resolutions higher than 1280x720 might be possible - I'll try and experiment. |
