Accidental Norn self-poisoning | |

My male Norn, Stellarton, accidentally ate one of the bright purple berries on the big bridge in C2. Those berries are classified as 'badplants' rather than 'fruits', and he's accidentally poisoned himself as a result. One of his lungs seems to have failed when I look inside the Science Kit, as have his bones.
I don't want him to die early as I want to raise him to old age, making him the first of my C2 Norns to be so if he reaches that stage. (I never got any of my Norns up to seniority when I used to play C2.)
Is there some kind of antidote which will neutralize the poison from the berries and prevent Stellarton's early death?

Those berries (presumably) contain belladonna, which will decay naturally over time. If your norn has fallen unconscious you should inject him with some defibrillant from the Science Kit in order to wake him up. |

Those berries contain sleep toxin, for which there doesn't seem to be an antidote. Prostaglandin will help his organs if they haven't failed completely - if they're dead, there's nothing you can do to fix them.
Edit: Belladonna? The guide didn't mention that. Maybe it's wrong. My advice about prostaglandin still stands. |

I wonder if it's possible to develop an antidote... Sorry, just a random thought. |

In C3/DS, you can directly remove chemicals with CAOS. Not sure about C2. |

If all else fails and he does die, you can use the Science Kit to find his unique Moniker, which will exist as a .gen file in My Documents\Creatures 2\Genetics. Lay an egg with the Genetics Kit using this .gen file and BOOM, you've got a perfect baby clone of your norn, fresh to live a whole new lifetime. |

I'm fairly sure the berries only contain Sleep Toxin, although Belladonna might be in there too - that would only affect the heart, though, not the lungs or the bones.
How old is your Norn? Some Norns can live to old age even with severe organ damage.

I took a look.
Sleep Toxin is confirmed, no Belladonna present. But it contains two other poisons: Tyrosine and Tryptophan, which are hallucinogens but otherwise harmless, AFAIK. |

The irony of regular aminoacids - that are only harmful in any way to live mammals when very overdosed - acting as hallucinogens for Norns is not lost on me.

If it's a dangerous plant in C2, you should see those spiky berries in a certain biopod somewhere. Now that is fatal. |
