Agents in DS or D3 folder(s) or both? | |

Please help me.
I am really confused about when to put agents-files into dockingstation-agents folder and when to put them in creatures 3 -agents folder.
Do I have to add them in both agent folders or just one?
From my observations it doesn't matter, but I would hate to make a mistake that later causes problems in my world.
Thank you in advance. |

If you are playing DS or with a docked world put them in the DS folder, unless they are designed specifically for C3.

I usually put all agent files in the Creatures 3 folder, because the agents always show up in the Docking Station injector as well. As far as I know DS automatically checks all C3 folders for files, but not the other way around. |

Arnout is right. If you want to use a C3/DS agent in both games, you only need to put it in the C3 "My Agents" folder. Only DS-only agents go in the DS "My Agents" folder.

I would say it depends on how you play. The C3 creator is more tedious to sort through than the DS one, so if you want to avoid unnecessary clutter when trying to inject a C3 specific agent into a docked world you would want most of them in the DS folder.
So it is situational.

Thank you so much for your input on this problem.
I will use the creatures3-agents folder for any C3DS-agents unless strategically
avoiding clutter.
Dragoler, I particularly like your the situational solution and will make use of this for certain in my game. |

Agents in the DS agents folder will show up in the Creator in a docked world if they're C3 compatible, whether they're also in the C3 agents folder or not.
Though if you're using a docked world then you should probably use the Agent Injector over the Creator anyway, so it's something of a moot point.

Some C3 specific agents won't show up in the DS injector in a docked world, you can only inject them through the C3 creator.
Thank you Lilrosaleen, glad I could help.

You can use the Agent Injector to inject C3-only agents if you click on that little C3 icon next to the agent description. Everything that shows up in the Creator will then show up in the Agent Injector.

I concede, that was something I didn't know about. Thanks for the info!

Slightly off-topic, but has anybody ever considered remaking The Creator and the chemical injector in Creatures 3 so they use a list system similar to DS? The current selection screens are far too slow in my opinion. |

Same with the egg layer, I was slightly surprised that I hadn't spotted any agents that do those things already. It would make playing C3 standalone much more appealing.
