I'm (finally) nearly done with the Nurture Run that was meant to follow up the CCSF live stream I did and now, I need something new to get me pumped to blog about Creatures 3/Docking Station again.

I'm open to restarting one of my old world concepts, but I'm looking for new ideas, too. As always, I'll be covering my exploits in my blog and would like to know what you'd all like to see. Help me?

I'd be interested in seeing another go at the Pearlmaid world concept or a similar aquatic world. Jessica's doing something similar at her blog, but I say the more the merrier.

A toxic world could also be interesting; I don't think I've seen anything about those on the blogosphere.

For something a little simpler there's always the option of focusing on grendels or ettins.

On the other end of the spectrum you could do a full-fledged scenario world (e.g. focusing on trying to protect norns from grendels or vice-versa, having a sort of monarchy going on, etc.).

Migration worlds are usually interesting to watch. They're slightly better for long wolfling runs and not blogs though. I tried writing about one of my migration runs, and I just ended up bored. It's just Norns doing cute Norn things and only occasionally moving when the seasons change.

Another world that might be interesting is a GoM world. In my world I only have one "queen" Grendel who is allowed to breed. Her female offspring are either frozen in an eggornator, or exported when they become children.

After the queen dies, I import/unfreeze all of the females and send them through an IQ test. First one to reach the Meso, find a Norn, and slap it becomes the new queen. The rest of the females are exported, just in case the current female dies or can't lay eggs. Only downside to do this is you might run out of male Grendels, but it's really easy to just hatch some gen 1s.

I've always been curious about some way to make breeds or groups with different roles in a world, like some creatures that will actually serve some other ones or follow them around, creatures with royalty/leaders, a 'servant' or 'guardian' class that will serve certain creatures, or maybe even some item (like a crown or scepter) that can make other creatures recognize a creature and treat them differently... Though do GoMs have something like this? I think controlled with chemicals maybe? I never used them...

Still, even just creating 'tribes' of creatures who will fight each other and back their own tribe up, or a special breed who will react differently to other creatures based on some different kinds of cues... Grendel 'watchdogs' maybe... that protect Norns or maybe even bond to specific Norns and then follow them around and fight anyone that attacks them... A little ForF lobe and tract fiddling could probably make a breed that would imprint on and love just one creature, like maybe the first one they see, or the first one that pats them, and then they would be unable to hit them and want to approach them most of the time... they might still be a bit hard to control otherwise though, at least without agents... Beware of Vicious Watch-Grendels!

Evolnemesis, that all sounds amazing but is sadly outside my skill. I do really love the concept, though.

I think mixing my Pearlmaid world concept with a migratory setting could be interesting. All my previous blog runs have finished or retired so I'd have the time and energy to focus on a new world like that. I'd likely use modified CFF genetics, which means cracking open the Genetics Kit for the first time in a while, too.

It would take a while to stage and I would need to do some testing to see how well Artemia Seas or a similar room would work. If I'm going to play with aquatic norns, I'd certainly want to use a room that was Swimmer Agent friendly. In the meantime I could probably do a much smaller world. I never did get a good look at the CFF norns and this seems like a good excuse.

Yeah, if you are interested in CFF genetics, definitely look at the latest ones, the new test pair of Evos, Janeway & Picard.. Other than appearance, they are basic ChiChis with the most complete and perfected set of CFF fixes so far... They have all the latest fixes and tweaks (except for sickness taking some nutrition from them, which is a new feature you can see in the latest Gene Compare near the top of this thread that I left out of that pair for testing purposes... but I'm pretty sure that feature will be going into the final CFF, and will be in all the official breed conversions...)

I really like their behavior now though, and their breeding rate is much more reasonable than typical Norns... It still might be able to stand a little more tweaking down before final release, but it's pretty close to perfect I think, especially if I can figure out a good way to give them even more of a penchant to spread out without making them too antisocial or likely to pace around for no reason like some of my older CFFs.

I'd really like to fine-tune this outline. I know I had more ideas before but for some reason, it didn't occur to me to write them down. I'm feeling a little dumb because of it but... Any ideas? Have I missed anything? I'm still not sure what rooms to use that would work well with this world concept. Artemia Sea is just the right size for me but sadly lacks land. Aquanornia is what I used last time but it's admittedly kind of small. I'll also try out Devil's Reef and Deep Abyss to see what I can work out.

Matriarch Society
- At all times, there will only be one female in the world. All of her "surviving" daughters* will be exported and tested before being reintroduced. * the term "surviving" will be explained below.

- Daughters will have to pass the classic IQ test (no added hazards). Of the girls that pass, the queen will be the first to breed. In the event of a tie, the girl with the first (leftmost) pregnancy notification will be queen. Once she has become pregnant, all other girls will be exported for a separate run, splicing or testing; deleted; or saved for future upload.

- The male population will not be closely monitored at all and generations might get mixed up. All of the queen's "surviving" male offspring will be allowed to stay in the world and will only be removed if problems crop up. Problems include sliding and other gait issues, failing to pass the IQ test, fast agers, immortals, etc. Fast agers and immortals should be impossible with the genome I plan to use.

- To prevent breeding outside of the aquatic area, males and females will be kept separate until adult hood.

Amphibious Species
- There is an added challenge related to egg laying. Only eggs that are laid on land will be considered viable, "surviving" eggs. Eggs that were laid underwater will be considered "drowned" and will be deleted with the Mini-Recycler.

- Mermaids will not be allowed to enter the aquatic area of the world until they have reached breeding age. In the genome I will use, this is when they've grown their tail. Once they've reached adulthood, they will not be allowed back "on land".

Colorful Creatures- I plan to use CFF, Colortrue Pearlmaids. This in mind, I will start the world with a rainbow of colors. Each time a new queen is introduced, a new, Generation 1 male will be added. His color will be chosen based on the world's dominant colors.

Fierce Competition (?)
- I had an idea to introduce an 'opponent' species, namely Artemia Grendels. I would love to see these as colortrue and do a run similar to this with the Grendels but here, in this setting, I think I'd like to keep their role subdued.

- Ideally, the grendels here would take on Grendel Man's Flesheater Grendel concept and be a survival pressure on the Pearlmaids rather than a natural disaster.

Migratory Mermaids (?)
- I'm not sure how practical this idea is given the limited number of aquatic metarooms. I'll have to do some testing with this, in particular with the latest Swimmer Agent to make sure this is doable.

- Certain aquatic metarooms have food growing year-round while others are totally barren. I'll have to use the Garden Box quite a bit but there aren't very many aquatic patch plants that seem well suited to this environment.

ETA: I'm also thinking about adapting this into something more land-driven. It would be easy enough and might make metaroom selection much easier.

Have you considered doing a CAOS tutorial? Taking one of the agents you've made and running us through it line-by-line, or going through a CAOS concept that you found hard to understand.

I certainly could, when I have some time. I'm still toying around with more long-term projects right now.

Were there any agents in particular you'd like to see explained?

Well, you have made enough agents to make it a series, if you wanted. ;)

How about your favourite of your Garden Box agents?

An agent walk-through series would be very different from another nurture world concept. I like it! I'll see what I can put together, but I'd still like to play with some other ideas, too. :) Great suggestion!
