Since im not able to be on my beloved WinXP, My sis is kind enough to let me be on her Win7 laptop. It have all Creatures games from our Creatures Triple Pack and I downloaded the remaster patch. I have all Genetic Kits for each Creatures game (C1, C2, C3/Ds) C2 genetic kit works, except it won't let me inject the egg into the world. I can't use Chris Doubles genom injector either.. So I have to edit and save the genom and then use egg maker to make a egg file, then go to the hatchery snd hatch my creation - very annoying but thats my work around for now... For C3's Genetic kit, it refused to install and so I had to find another gene editor, Gen Lab. But that way I can't inject my creation as a egg or creature, so again I have to use yet another daunting work around that involves me to: copy a c3 or ds genom and rename it so its only 4 letters long, use gene lab to load any genom edit and save Over the copied gene, then start Creatures 3 or Dockin Station and use the agent called egg maker, wich you enter in a genom that must be 4 letters long (I think you also have to enter .gen as well) and then press s button that creates the egg, if failed the agent aoutokills.. I have installed the Remaster Patch. Any idea what to do? Thanks in advance |

What sort of error does the C2 give you when you try to inject an egg? Also have you tried to run them both as an administrator? That solves most of my problems with Creatures things and I vaguely remember my C2 gen kit not working until I ran it as an admin. There's also a way of making something always run in admin mode.If that doesn't work then you could always use the eggernator to inject your C3/DS genomes. It's similar to the egg maker, but it has a larger space for the genome name and you can just copy and paste names into it. Don't know of any agent like it for C2 sadly. Honestly, in C3/DS I just use an egg agent from another breed. 1. Move the genome you want to use into the game's genomes folder. 2. Choose one of the genomes to replace and move it somewhere safe. 3. Rename your new genome as the one you are replacing. 4. Use muco to lay as many of your new creatures as you want. I recommend using a genome that is dissimilar from yours in appearance so that you know it worked. (ex: If you use the bengal norn's egg agent for a grendel it'll be pretty obvious when you tell Muco to lay bengal norn eggs when grendels pop out that it's your modified creature genome) This is especially useful if you find a egg agent for a breed you don't particularly care too much about replacing. You can always switch it back afterwords also. |

I can't get the C3 genetics kit to install on Windows 7, either. When I run the installer it never wraps up, no matter how long I wait. It doesn't lock up; I can still click About or Cancel, but the latter just gives me a warning saying "Setup.exe is still running; if you cancel now, temporary files will not be deleted. Cancel anyway?" I even redownloaded the installer fresh in case it was corrupted or something, but it still does this. Running it as an administrator doesn't seem to help either. I know some other people have gotten it working on Windows 7. Is there some kind of trick to it?  |
