Att files control the position of a creature’s body parts relative to each other. Often, drastically differing breeds have conflicting att data, resulting in displaced body parts. Thus, the head of one species, while fitting perfectly upon the parent breed, may be placed upon the body of a breed far too small or large, and still use the att files for the parent, rather than those for the new body (which would tell the head where to go on the new body type).
Body parts too large or small can be results of the above, but can also be caused by using breeds which do not have sprites for a particular age. For instance, I believe the new Tilynn norns only have adult sprites which will be used through all ages, even as a baby, causing apparent disfigurement when placed upon a baby norn.
Unfortunately, there is no way to ‘fix’ these errors directly without either extensive att or sprite editing, or simply waiting for the breed in question to be finished or fixed. The good news is that these creatures can usually live perfectly normal lives, however, their offspring might inherit the error.
