Brain Edit Problem

I've made a biiiiig oops and I'd really appreciate some help from anyone with any understanding at all of the Norn brain. x.x

Basically, I edited the size of some lobes, and like a total fool I saved over my working file, expecting that if it didn't work out I could simply revert my changes.

except that isn't working. I've scoured the brain for every possible edit I could have made and changed it back to how it should be, based on referencing the v2.0 file, which I haven't touched since I began working on 2.1 and which therefore has the default TWB brain. I can't find any differences between the 2.1 brain and the 2.0 brain at this point and yet I'm still getting babies similar to Citify Coil, the "puppet Norn" I uploaded. They're incapable of taking any independent action except left, right, and once I noticed one rest and fall asleep briefly. But that's it. They can't play with toys or do anything you can't force them to do with CRC.

I even made a brand new world wondering if somehow my current world was corrupted, but no, same problem. What have I done?? I never edited anything but the size of various lobes in Genetics Kit - I didn't touch the 'central' brain file. I don't understand why putting the lobes back to their proper sizes isn't fixing the problem. If I can't repair this I'm going to have to redo a WHOLE lot of work. x.x

EDIT: Whew! I figured out how to fix it. Some of the tracts had changed automatically when I changed the lobes and I didn't know it. I was able to use GeneCompare to find what had changed and the correct values. Taught me a little bit about what I might need to do to make those edits actually work, too, but I'm afraid to tinker any more for the moment...

Yeah you need to make sure tracts and lobe size match properly, and that tracts are still pointing to where they should be, that is one of the most important thing if modifying the brain. Also, making sure that the lobes that are connected are the proper sizes for what they have to do.

If you can find a download of the 'Curiosity Norns' I believe those are a successful breed with expanded lobes... I think they have an extra drive called curiosity from an extra neuron in their drive lobe, and have other lobes/tracts modified to match and other things to accommodate their special new drive.

Thanks for the tip, Evol! The specific problem was basically that it didn't just expand the numbers in the tracts to account for how I'd increase the neurons, but it also wiped pre-existing data so that none of the tracts associated with lobes I'd edited were set up properly anymore. Next time I'm going to repair the damage done and then add new stuff to the tracts to make use of the new neurons. Hopefully then it'll work better!
