I've been working on a pokeball(you can find the idle sprite in the sprite gallery) and I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a basic guide for it.It's classed as a gadget(I already know how to code that),if a creature pushes, pulls, gets,or hits it,it will be captured in the pokeball and frozen.(I don't know how to code that part)The pokeball becomes invisible to creatures when a creature is captured in it.(Mabye some kind of pokeball has creature = true/false kind of variable? That's a wild guess.)The hand can click the pokeball to release whatever creature is inside somewhere else, and it will become visible to creatures again.(I don't know.)
So,any basic guides for how to do this?Since they're gadgets, and creatures are captured when they get them, these make great ettin traps. As you can see,my knowledge of CAOS has greatly improved since the Pokemon World concept. |

Have you ever played with the Eggernator? That might cover some of the concepts you're interested in.

Well,I don't know how to look in the code for an object contained within an agent file. |

Do you have Jagent? Check out my Beginner's Guide to Monk to learn how to extract code from agents.

For that, you can use a program called "Revelation". I hear Jagent can be used too but I use Revelation.
You can follow the directions on that page to learn how to use it and you can download it from Mirality Systems.
Also, ninja'd.

You can use Jagent's Monk tool to decompile an .agents file to see what's inside. Once downloaded open Monk, make sure 'PRAY Source' is selected and then drag and drop an .agents file into the box.

You can accomplish the "invisible to creatures" part easily by changing the agent's ATTR. Adding 16 to the original ATTR will make it invisible to Creatures; then changing it back to its original ATTR will make it visible again.
Have you gotten a hold of the CAOS Documentation yet? It has a lot of useful information on ATTR values and such. Some parts of it take a little getting used to, but overall it's pretty invaluable.
