Can anyone please explain what this gene means?
131 0 Emb B MutDupCut 128 0 Organ# = 13, Current Reaction, No Tissue, Reaction Rate, chem=CA smell 12 (Norn), thresh=214, nom=209, gain=56, features=Analogue (0)
As far as I can tell, it's in the 'fight or flight' organ and has something to do with norn smell...

It's part of the Fight-or-Flight system (as you probably guessed). It controls the reaction rate of a reaction gene that converts fear to anger (there's another reaction/receptor combo that does the opposite and corresponds to Grendel smell).
Basically, the two genes work together to tell the norn to stick around and fight when there's a bunch of other norns around, and to run like the dickens when there's a bunch of grendels around.

That's interesting. I suppose inverting the gene would make them more likely to fight Grendels, and avoid fights with other Norns?

The twin receptor for the 'flight from grendels' is:
238 132 0 Emb B MutDupCut 128 0 Organ# = 13, Current Reaction, No Tissue, Reaction Rate, chem=CA smell 13 (Grendel), thresh=212, nom=209, gain=56, features=Analogue (0)
and the reactions controlled by them are:
233 5 0 Ado B MutDupCut 128 0 Organ# = 13, 1*Fear + 1*Adrenalin => 2*Fear + 1*Adrenalin; half-life = 41
234 6 0 Ado B MutDupCut 128 0 Organ# = 13, 1*Anger + 1*Adrenalin => 2*Anger + 1*Adrenalin; half-life = 41
235 1 0 Emb B MutDupCut 128 0 Organ# = 13, 1*Fear + 1*<NONE> => 1*Anger + 1*<NONE>; half-life = 46
237 3 0 Emb B MutDupCut 128 0 Organ# = 13, 1*Anger + 1*<NONE> => 1*Fear + 1*<NONE>; half-life = 46
So when lots of grendels are around, adrenalin makes fear. When there are lots of norns around, adrenalin makes anger. When the situation changes, fear and anger can be converted into each other?

Following on from the discovery that Toxic Norns have an inverted response (the CA chemicals are switched in the receptors), I've created little Walter, a CFE Chichi with the same edit. I'd appreciate peoples' views on raising him in a world with grendels and norns.
