I was discussing with someone how it could be an interesting challenge to make a pixel-art style metaroom, and I realised something potentially fun

The creatchi already have front sprite life stages and expressions, so it would be less effort (and possibly fun) to make c3/ds creatchi breeds to go with the whole 'pixel metaroom', complete maybe even with items based on the sprite items the creatchi use?

^ Well, technically there aren't separate images for life stages for the Creatchi. It's just semantics really... until you get down to trying to recreate them in-game. :P

I do like the idea though. I have, honestly, thought about Creatchi-to-C3/DS in the past, but wasn't too keen on dealing with the aspect of side view. I did make an experimental head sprite for side view (I was planning for one neutral-ish expression in side view and only one body pose in front view, as in C1) and a single body sprite, but that was about as far as I did.

I mentioned once on CCchat about the idea of proportionate Creatures Village norns in Creatures 3.

Now I'm aware there already are Creatures Village norns that are downloadable, but what I'm talking about here is different.
Y'see, Bengals and Tiger norns have a specific difference, and what I mean by proportionate is having norns from Creatures Village like the Pippin norns for example, having their sprites resized and their head merged with their hair sprites to make them "fit in" with the rest of the norns in Creatures 3 in terms of size.

Currently I'm working on a project I've had in mind for a very long time. It's a custom sprites breed project for DS. I wanted to render the sprites model in Blender, but it's very frustrating. Now there's a part of me that's strongly considering just rendering the model in actual, physical clay. I can actually work with real clay very well. Then I can photograph the model from the angles I need and pose it as needed.

Thoughts on making a breed in clay?

I agree. I can't see it not being a neat thing, if done well. :) I imagine that the clay would give the breed a 3D look, which could look good in Docking Station!

One COB which I think would be an excellent addition to C2 would be one which prevents norns from getting stuck in the boats -- the rowboat between the desert and the island, and the rubber raft between the island and the garden. I find that when the boat docks and they're thrown out onto dry land, my norns frequently climb right back into the boat again with the result being that they can't climb back out. This almost always means that unless they figure out how to run the boat back to the other side -- and many of them don't -- I'm forced to run the boat myself if I don't want them to starve to death (which at best allows them to be lazy and at worst is sort of a form of cheating).

I was also thinking today that it might be cool to see a norn breed that has tusks -- either a single horn on its nose like a rhino or tusks at the sides of its mouth like a wild boar or an elephant. Yes, I'm aware of the Sabertooth Norns but what I have in mind would be a breed with tusks that either stick out or else curl up a bit like a warthog's -- teeth don't really count as tusks.

So,this has been a little semi-frequent fantasy I've been having for the past month.

What if Creatchi had its own game world?

It could look like a grassy place where people could put Creatchi in or take them out at will, and they could pretty much just do Creatchi things. People could also take items from their inventory and place them into the game world for Creatchi to interact with. Things could show up in another little inventory with a box for every item known, and one extra for the Creatchi to go into.

When your Creatchi is in the game world inventory,it will just function like a normal Creatchi, but when it's in the game world, you can only interact with it by going into the game world, and it can only interact with other Creatchi in the game world while it's there.

The Creatchi could also have things other than aging happen at about the same rate as a Norn in one of the games, and if it socializes with another Creatchi,it can only gain those little points that it gets when it socializes with other Creatchi once a day per Creatchi socialized with.

You could also be able to tell your Creatchi to do things with a text box that you type commands into, much like a real Creatures game. For example, you could type "pull plant",and it will pull the nearest plant. If you tell it to do something while there are multiple objects that qualify as the type of object you want it to do something to,you will have to click on the object you want it to interact with.

You could also gain items in the game world. If you have your Creatchi pull a carrot, then the carrot will be pulled up,and it will go into your inventory. However,if your Creatchi is hungry when it pulls up the carrot,it will eat the carrot instead.

You could also tell your Creatchi to hit a bush, and the bush will be destroyed, leaving behind a pile of leaves that cannot be placed into the inventory, but young Creatchi will enjoy playing in the leaves.

There could be a gadget hoard area where coinchi items other than carrots and apples would spawn, and if you tell your Creatchi to get the item,it will be transferred to your inventory.

If you tell your Creatchi to hit a tree, the tree will shake, and drop an apple. The tree will be able to be shaken for apples once every hour.

If your Creatchi dies in the game world,it will be booted out and cannot come back in for the rest of the day instead of actually dying. Your Creatchi will have one point taken off of its health bar,but that's the only real bad effect it will cause.

When your Creatchi leaves the game world, all of its drives will be exactly the same as before it entered the game world, unless it was booted out because it died.

About the carrots and bushes, they will randomly spawn every half hour across the area outside of the gadget stash.

Nornchi will not exhibit special behaviors,Grendelchi will be compelled to beat up any Nornchi or Ettinchi they come across, which doesn't actually affect any drives but will make the Creatchi flinch, and Ettinchi will constantly hang out near the gadget stash.

Any eggs in the hatchery could also show up in the game world as a feature that can be toggled on or off in the game world GUI,which could be at the bottom of the screen. If you click on the egg,its hatchery page will open in a new tab.

Creatchi will have their name and their owner's name under them, similar to Amaikokonut's Creature Nametags.

I know it's highly unlikely any of this will ever see the light of day,but I just had to get it out of my system. Does this even belong here,or is it so big that it deserves its own topic?

It seems really...what's the word? Recursive?

Because Creatchi are based off Creatures, a game where you can breed creatures and have them play in a world...then you'd turn Creatchi into a proper game where you can play with them in an actual world...

Would it be cute, (or offensive and blasphemous?) if someone was to create a Nativity Set agent with Norn figures as the principal characters, instead of their human counterparts? I'm just curious as to the moral take on the idea. :)

Since the honeypots in C1 can be broken if they're dropped from a sufficient height and since a couple of COBs have been released in the past which might be considered in questionable taste by some -- such as the infamous Breaded Hatchling Norn and edible creature eggs -- what about a COB which causes Norn eggs to break if they're dropped or handled too roughly?

Granted, there would be a drawback to this in the sense that there aren't many ways to store eggs or keep them away from the norns (especially since they appear to view and treat eggs as substitutes for toys)...but it would also be a way of keeping a world from being inundated by eggs, especially if someone is willing to gamble as a way of keeping things interesting.

I know there is such an agent for C3/DS... called Interactive Eggs... Eggs will respond to slapping by the hand or hitting from creatures by taking some damage, with enough damage able to kill them, and to tickling by the hand or other creatures by healing and increasing growth slightly, and I believe the agent also makes them take damage from rough treatment like dropping or throwing them so they hit a surface too hard, though I'm not sure about that part.

Not sure if there is such a COB for C1 or C2 though.

A wrapped present (toy agent or COB), which when used, it disappears, possibly with a 'being opened' animation, and then spawns another toy as if it were inside the box, chosen randomly from all the toys the user has installed. (i.e. one present when opened, might reveal a beach ball, another a doll, another a toy car, etc...)

A Garden Box type applet for Creatures 2 that contains injectable versions of all official flora and fauna (and the option to add third party ones via COB file the way the Breeder's Kit did.) Comes with a map, configurable population monitoring, and terraforming tools.

Savanah's Pokeball thing just inspired me to suggest someone make a Exporter/Importer replacement Agent that's basically the Pokemon Box thing. You can open it up, view the Norn/Grendel/Ettin/Geat in it's entirety, see history, or in general get the lowdown better than the original

Real time or equivalent time?

Real time would be the time in, well, real life.

Equivalent would be the one that passes ingame, with wolf control n stuff. 1 hour at triple speed being displayed as 3 hours for example.

I'd prefer real time. A lot of what I do runs on intervals. :)

Though that said, it'd also be neat to see how long I've been playing each session - since Wolf Control only shows me equivalent time for the world, it's not very reliable for measuring the passage of session time.

Stopwatch with real time would be very handy for random feral runs, if it had an audio component when time ran out. It'd mean I wouldn't have to play windowed or keep checking my phone every few minutes waiting for the next random event. Could run it entirely in-game that way.

Maybe it could be both in one. One equivalent and one real counter. Then you have buttons to start either just one or both at once, for comparison.

Does anyone know if there's already a c3/ds bathtub agent?

It's a fun little thought and not something important, but it might be cute and useful to have a little injectable (and portable) bathtub agent, that you could drop norns in and it would sterilise them of bacteria and antigens? Also possibly reduce pain and warm them slightly<3 c:

Closest that comes to mind is the C1/C12DS shower. I've never seen a separate injectable agent like that.

I have noticed my norns in any world tend to become incredibly and instantly addicted to anything with a warming effect, so I imagine it might be an issue if creatures could activate it themselves.

I figure it would have to be hand activated only- not just for that, but also there's some creatures that thrive on diseases and the like that could mess themselves up by accident! Things like toxic norns, zombie(?) ettins (the ones that come with the bubonic bugle), and there's a tiny handful of specialised breeds that depend on staying cold.

For breeds closer to the 'default', ones with weaker immune systems (like tree-huggers, apples, black dragon grendels.. ect) it sounds like it could be a nice idea though. Something to tend to their aches and pains if they're having a hard time c:
Also a kind of amusing 'ew you're gross time for a bath' moment!

Quite a few years ago I remember someone mentioning an idea for a doomsday machine. Something that when activated would trigger total destruction of a metaroom or world, complete removal of the agents in there, all plants, bugs, critters, machines, gadgets, everything, all gone. Visually while the destruction was going on, I think there was suppose to be storms, tornadoes & stuff like that going on, but it's been so long that I don't really remember. I don't remember who mentioned the original idea either.

For some reason, this morning I remembered that idea....
