Objects Destroyed on Impact? | |

I was thinking of possible agent ideas today (despite the utter lack of CAOS skills I possess) and one particular idea has left me wondering: is it possible to create an object that will destroy itself after being thrown against a wall with a certain amount of force?
For example, if I wanted to create a water balloon agent that I and the creatures could pick up and (gently) drop with ease, but also wanted it to break (and subsequently disappear) if I dropped it from a particular height or threw it against the wall with excessive force, would I be able to code that? Or could I only create a balloon that would break upon any impact/height drop?
I don't even know where I'd begin, coding wise, so I thought I'd ask before I got too excited about it.
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

I'd imagine you could specify a certain velocity for the balloon to break (i.e. "doif velx/vely = #), but I haven't messed with such things too much, so I can't say for sure.

I do know that Moe engineered the Tuba Seeder specifically to stop seeding once it reaches a height above the ground roughly of a norn's middle, so the code of that might be worthwhile examining?

There must be a way to do it. Remember the breakable jugs that come with C1toDS? That could be a good start, since they do basically the same thing you're describing.

I did not even know the breakable jugs were in C12DS (which probably demonstrates how little I use the world ). I'll check them out.
Thanks, everyone!
ETA: Hmm. The jugs seem to bounce off walls and only break upon hitting the floor. I'll try GrendelMan's code and play around with it.

You could also try to take out pieces from the cosfile of the C3 volcano. The rocks break when they have a too strong impact, not important if it is the floor, ceiling or a wall.

*also completely forgot about the volcano rocks*
Thanks, Papriko. I'll check those out too.
