Hello, I'm not exactly a new member to the Creatures Community, really, I'm in fact a very old member, that used to play the game way back before Creatures 2 even existed.
I decided that I shouldn't lurk anymore. And if there are any lurkers reading this... STOP LURKING! And post! 0__0
*cough* Sorry...
Anyway, I want to give something to the Creatures Community. While as much as I'd like to make a new breed from scratch, maybe that's something I cannot do.
But Genetics is certainly something I can aim for.
I've figured a way of using the Pigment Bleed gene in the Genetics kit to get some really cool colours. And I was wondering, if anyone had a request for a colour, or maybe if I could figure something out... That I could do it for them.
Say you want a blue Chichi norn that didn't look bled-out? I could do that for you.
Thinks like that. ^__^;
I just want to give to the society, but also not give out hollow promices that I never live up to.
Suggestions would also be great.
Thanks for reading. |

actually, if I remember correctly, these have problems crossbreeding because instead of adjusting all the redundant genes amanora just... deleted them all.
I may be mistaken, but if so, you could fix that.

don't make promises, just learn enough to get around and enjoy the games. |

Ah! I see, so you'd like to have multi-coloured norns that retain their colour throughout their life, and are able to breed with other norns seamlessly with no gene problems?
That is certainly something I can do, and I have done before.
I'll probably do it with a set of Chichi norns at first, since in the Genetics kit, people can change the body sprite files all they want with no real repercussions. ('cept they might get a different colour with a certain norn than another because of the colour is edited much like how photshop edits hue/saturation)
Okay. Sounds like something I can do.
I can easily make a pack of downloadable infant norns with genetic files to match them.
If you'd wish.
It'll take me about two days. Since I have to go to work tomorrow. |

I know how pigments work... It's not a request on my part, just pointing out that it's been done.
Download one of the packs. It's "hey here's a green norn that stays green", not something that scintillates colors over its lifetime. |

Oh, I know. But I also think that having some norns that can crossbreed with others and keep the proper age to colour ratio is good too.
Certainly something I have to work out.
Because even if you say, get all the pigment genes to look proper in all stages and it can breed with other norns... There still is a possibility that it'll mutate slightly differently between the different age-stage genes especially if you cross-breed it with another norn. (usually after a couple generations)
Hmm...
It might take longer then. ^__^: But thanks for giving me a great idea to work off of.
I'm sure it can be done... |
