Creatures Community Sacrifice Floppy

Greetings Creatures Community,
With the CCSF in its early stages of planning, I would like to propose a new tradition for the event. I am offering to fill a floppy disk with high quality norns. I will then take this disk out, douse it in gas, and set it ablaze as a sacrificial offering to ward off evil spirits from interfering with the CCSF. This is the most humane way to offer these norns, as they will feel no pain in the disk.
I have already selected a disk which I am outfitting with protective runes, and have began a breeding project in C2 to get a party of sacrifices ready. I wanted to offer the community the opportunity to participate by sending me norns of your own for sacrifice on this disk.
I would prefer to use C2 norns, then import them all at once and let them run around for a couple hours so they can pass on their genes, before I seal them away on the disk to await their fate.
Please post below if you are interested and I will let you know how to send me your norns.

Excellent, I shall make the preparations. Send me your norns to NornBreeder@gmail.com. Then we need to make sure to delete all copies of the creatures so we know that those on the disk are unique.

As a for-realsies member of a druidic order, I have to protest!

Partly because burning plastics is very bad for the environment, partly because of the safety implications of playing with petrol because people on the internet were encouraging it and partly because sacrificing life is generally not an okay thing to do.

Yes this is a little creepy, but my main concern is also the burning plastics bit.

I mean, play with petrol all you want, if that's your thing. Darwin sorts it out in the end. But if you're going to do stupid things, please don't make the environment pay for it. :)

Maybe, just maybe, Nornbreeder is talking figuratively? He kinda had me convinced at "protective runes". :)

I'm having a difficult time reading it as anything other than an honest offer to put files onto a floppy disk and literally set it on fire, but clarification would be very welcome.

Playing Devil's Advocate... Burning plastic is no better for the environment than being in a moving car or plane, spraying deodorant, barbecues, smoking, failing to recycle... How many of us can honestly say we don't do any of those things?

Even if he is talking about literally setting the disk alight, I haven't read anything where he's actually said that this sacrificial burning will be taking place outdoors with no measures or precautions; I'm sure he'll clarify! :) There are always safe and environmentally sound methods to conduct such things. I say let's give him the benefit of the doubt and let him explain before we jump to conclusions.

It can definitely be done safely! A fume hood is a super good way of making sure nothing toxic gets released into the air. :)

In some parts of the world they literally burn plastic every morning because they have nowhere else to put it....

I personally don't think a little floppy is gonna have disastrous environmental results, in any case, I like the idea!

I will pick a creature to send in later, here's my reason to play some C2, get some quality creatures. :D

I'm fixing up my website to be re-launched for the CCSF, my site is devoted solely to the first Creatures game, one of a vanishing breed!

Just curious though, wouldn't it be a much more fitting 'sacrifice' to run head first into a wall a bunch?

wow, I don't even know where to start, but generally is this necessary to do? If I was to ward off evil spirits, I would throw salt at the floppy disk
[nlaugh]

Jokes aside, I think a much better approach to the whole thing would be to maybe buy a tiny sapling ( any kind of tree will do), watch after it and hang tiny papers with positive wishes on it's fragile branches for the upcoming CCSF.
