So I just started up a new Creatures 2 world for the first time in a while and I noticed that there was no Black Box of Doom and I could see my own hand.
A couple of months ago, there was a Windows update, could this be related to this??? Is this true for everyone???

GASP.
O.O
It's true for me as well!! The black box has gone. The hand only flickers a little bit when I move it, and doesn't disappear.
Maybe I can actually finally spend a meaningful amount of time playing C2!

Is there still a noticeable amount of lag? |

Uh... I mean, yes, but I was also running DS simultaneously and this machine is not exactly a powerhouse. So it may just have been that.

As far as I can tell, yes, but quite frankly, no black box, I can see my own hand, this is a vast improvement.

I take it as you run C2 on virtual machine on Windows 10 then?

I wish GOG.com would get up off their butts and remaster C2 for Windows 10. The black box vanishing is all fine and dandy, but the lag is just intolerable IMO. It runs even worse than it did on my Windows Millenium Edition PC did back in 2003.
Edit: The lagginess remains. I've tried fixing it but the only success I've had is forcing it into 640 x 480 mode but obviously it looks awful. Guess I'll have to use a virtual machine then. |
