General Forum Monster Factory themed tournament    DilonShuniikke      5/9/2017  2 I started out doing just a C3 wolfing run, then decided it could be more interesting. I named all of my first-generation Norns after Monster Factory characters. (A highly recommended web show, but it does have frequent swearing, so I don't recommend it if that makes you uncomfortable.) Every time someone kisspops and it results in a pregnancy, both parents get a point. All eggs are collected and kept in inventory until round 1 is over. If someone dies, they'll be replaced by another monster on my roster until I run out of monsters. But a Norn dying does not necessarily mean they are out of the game! Round 2 consists of seeing how the children fare. (With random or perhaps community assigned names, depending on community interest.) Once they've grown to breeding age, I'll start collecting the eggs again, keeping in mind who the baby's grandparents were. (I'm using a spreadsheet to keep track of everything.) When a pregnancy occurs, all the baby's grandparents get one point. The Norn with the most points at the end of round 2 wins!! If you're a Monster Factory fan, or just enjoy keeping track of these sorts of challenges, I highly recommend you keep tabs on this post! I'll be posting comments as significant events occur (death, who's on top at the end of round 1, etc), and when the game is over I will post an Excel file of more detailed data, including roster list, points earned, and a more dense log over the course of the tournament. (If this post isn't where it should be, or contains something inappropriate that I missed, please let me know! This is my first time posting on the forums, but I have read the rules to the best of my ability.) Flib dis   DilonShuniikke   5/10/2017  1 Initial update: Beginning of the run The Norns currently in the world are: CyberGarfield, Boy Mayor, Dark Vader, Dino Landsburry, Truck Shepard, Succotash, Mëlissa, DJ Slime Time, Randy Johnson, and Turbovicki. Mëlissa ended up in the Ettin desert, but the norn worrying me the most is Turbovicki, who has already wandered her way to the jungle. Seems the adventurous spirit came through to my Norns! The other Norns smartly kept in a group in the norn terrarium...at least, it WAS smart until one of them caught an illness! Soon all of them were sneezing like nobody's business. To make things worse, a Grendel has arrived! He's not as aggressive as most I've seen, which I supposed was okay, but the problem is, since he hasn't hit the Norns enough to make them angry, they haven't hit him enough to kill him. Ignoring this seemingly friendly Grendel, another has spawned! And I can't bet on this one being as nice! Okay, this is breaking news. As I've been typing this, I've been watching them in the background. In the span of me typing, one of the Norns I can't see has died, and been replaced with another baby norn I can't see. (Despite having said I hatched all the eggs I could and the rest was in my inventory, there's one or two I missed.) I'll unpause the game again, and check on what happened. The first noteworthy event! Well, a lot happened. Succotash has died and been replaced by... Day Trader! I'm worried a little that one of the grendels is killing my Norns without me noticing, as Boy Mayor also died offscreen! He has been replaced with... Panpan! Wow, all sorts of interesting events is happening faster than I expected! (If all the current Norns die, I'll kill the grendels and hatch the second half of the eggs.) Flib dis
