I may make a more insightful post later, but I noticed this comment by Papriko and wanted to share a thing I do;

And it is not even conveniently in one place, you have to puzzle it all together on your own from half a dozen different download sections! GAAAAAAAHHH!!! Just let me play already! And you have to go through this every time you (re)install a game!
I got a trick that I use if I change computer or the alike. I simply copy my old DS and C3 folders straight off. Once on a new computer, I'll install the games as usual but then paste in old files over the new installation and replace everything.
There's a lot of limits to this but generally it works and will save you loads of time and headaches.
Off course, ones could make a similar thing that newbies, or people who want to start fresh, can download. We could make a *.zip that simply contain the same folder system with all essential files sorted in. All the new player need to do now is "drag, drop & replace" and they'll be ready to go. It would take some organization and permissions to put it together but it should work.
A installation doing this would be fancy, but manually adding the files like described shouldn't be too hard. Concider to let all agents that are included to be pre-unpacked for simplicity sake.
(For example, there would be a folder called "Bootstrap", in it a folder called "010 Docking Station", and in it the fixed "bramboo.cos" file)
