Who uses creatures on more then 1 computer, or is interested in just running them from a USB portable drive?
It has come to my attention that Creatures USB may need a new name because some might not understand what a USB is. My program was designed to be able to put creatures on a external USB, external hard drive, and an external SD or Micro SD card. Making all 4 creatures games something you can put in your pocket and take with you.
There also may not be much of a need to take your world with you to exchange creatures with a friend in person.
There may not be much of a need to show a friend what the creatures games is about.
There may not be much of a need to backup existing worlds on a extenal drive in case of a computer crash.
I realize that most of these features are for face to face contact, back up purposes, and is sort of useless in a digital age. You have cloud backup, the option to email your creatures to a friend, possibly even send a phone message with your creture attached.
Is there anyone out there who would be interested in taking your worlds with you to more then 1 computer, running cretures from an external drive, showing a friend nearby what the game is about, exchanging creatures in person with that friend, backing up your creatures world, or just does not understand what a USB drive is?
Does anyone think the name should be changed so people may be able to understand what it does better in the title?
Edit: Thanks Rascii

I think most people know what an USB drive is, and I can see the advantage of being able to start the game from an USB and use the same saves everywhere.
But I don't play Creatures much anymore, and if you have the games on GoG you can just download them on any computer with an internet connection, so I wouldn't use it myself.

Thanks for the correction. My spellcheck spelled it Lennord.
Well as far as I know, when downloading a fresh copy from GoG.com you have a brand new world.
In my experience putting the games on an external device allows you to play when you want, without reinstalling. If you unplug the device, it is just as you left it until you plug it back in. Nothing is reset.
I would consider it very different then what your discribing.

What about Creatures: Pocket Edition? I seriously might consider giving this a go as I have two PCs at home and it's annoying having to transfer files over.
Edit: Didn't realise how large it is. This is gonna take some time to download. |

Well it is going to get smaller. I included videos ripped from places like YouTube. I did reach out to Jessica, and she expressed an interest in me removing her videos and putting links to them on YouTube instead.
I can see the logic with it since it will make the files smaller. Plus many Youtubers get paid per click. Kinda annexing her money if she has it set up like that. She did thank me for giving her credit tho in the help file.
Alright. A new Creatures Pocket Edition with a smaller file size. Any other suggestions?

No worries about the videos, Norn_master! I hadn't thought of reducing the file size, so I guess that will be a positive side effect with just including the links! It's not for revenue purposes, though: I just prefer to keep those video views on YouTube since comments can be posted directly, and I can answer any questions easily. I do appreciate you including them, though!
I think the smaller file size will certainly help out, and maybe calling it Creatures Pocket Edition will generate some more interest! I'm someone who only plays Creatures on a single computer, yet I think this could be very useful to those who aren't aware that they can take everything with them on the go. Hopefully you'll get some more feedback soon!

I do have a question tho. If I do rename it, should I just repost it here? Can you even edit the title of something already posted in downloads?

If you can't, a mod or higher certainly can.

I hope so. I don't mind reposting it. I would rather edit it.

Ok, I edited it and released it as well. After cutting Camyo, and Jessica's videos, it went from 1.1 GB to under 120MB.
I added an option to add Creatures Village, updated the help files, registry files, and changed a few things to allow for the newest versions of GoG.com's release. I was using a much older one.
I hope you enjoy it. It is the first Non Alpha or Beta release. Enjoy

So in light of creatures being 20 years old, I am preparing a special version.
If I can get ahold of Steve Grand, I would like to add his statement to mark the 20th anniversary in the special edition somehow.
Only question I need to know is, Should I add Windows 8, and Windows 10 support? Who here uses Windows 8, and Windows 10 to play C1 through CV?

Windows 8, since windows 10 is so broken that people usually need to down grade.
