Organ Deterioration Baseline
Dark

Dark

  1/27/2015  2

I'm currently trying to form a baseline of organ deterioration over the course of a gen 1 norn's life using the x-ray agent.

I started with two cfegizmo male tiger norns and two cfegizmo female tiger norns in a bacteria and grendel free environment. I am definitely going to repeat this experiment with non-cfegizmo norns as these norns have aged faster and seem to have remained in the adolescent stage up to adulthood, skipping youth entirely.

So far organ deterioration percentages have remained the same across the board, but I will be sharing my results in this thread when I'm done.

The results are in on the cfegizmos. Detereoration rate was the same across the board. The males were restricted to the Norn Meso and the females to the Norn Terrarium.

Interestingly, the life stages 'youth' and 'ancient' were skipped. Not sure if that's normal for cfegizmos.

I will update here when I get around to repeating this with the standard genome.

So most of the organs have dropped by about a sixth by adult? That seems pretty high... Deterioration of most organs was also pretty high by the end of life too. Does that respond to higher levels of sickness, etc., or is it pretty meaningless so long as the organs are above zero?

On the X-ray agent the list of organs is green until their percentage drops beyond a certain point. Whichever have dropped below that point turn red. That point is somewhere in the lower 40 percentage I think.

Injuries and illness most likely quicken the deterioration of certain organs... possibly even pregnancy but I didn't check that out.

I've started on the standard norns but I'm beginning to think something is wrong with my game because they aren't aging properly either. Two reached childhood at the right mark but the other two are still babies several minutes later. =/

Edit: They just reached childhood. Still strange that it was several minutes later considering they all hatched at exactly the same time.

Are they different breeds? Also, sometimes you'll notice a delay in their sprites updating. You can use "norn ages 4", for example, but the creature still has to cycle through the different stages, and that can take a few minutes.

No, I'm using all tiger norns like last time. And it wasn't the sprites, I was looking directly at their info which had them listed as babies still.

Well, the aging was wonky on these guys but I determined that their percentages dropped at the same time whether or not they reached the lifestage they were supposed to at that time.

So here's what I've got. Interestingly, the cfegizmo norn's organs seem to deteriorate faster initially but then hold up better than the standard norns by old age.

Maybe you could turn this into an excel table or something like that. That'll also make evaluation easier.

I don't think I've ever used excel. Is the program free and relatively easy to use?

Uhm, not sure. I think actually no.
But other office suits, such as LibreOffice and OpenOffice offer very similar tools and those are free for sure.
