Creatures sound effects in other things? | |

I've been hearing a lot of sound effects from creatures (Mostly creatures 3 and docking station) in other shows and movies and stuff, the kissing noise has been used at least once in Fullmetal Alchemist, the sound of the menus opening and closing has been used in Doctor Who as the Dalek's beam firing sound, a LOT of the other noises have been used in Superjail.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? |

SO, C3/DS used a royalty-free sound pack for all of their sound effects. I can't remember exactly which one, but it's pretty well-used throughout games and shows!

I've heard some sound effects too. That would explain a lot!

Haa, the Dalek one. I freaked my sister out with Creatures once because of that sound.

Creatures sound effects jump out like the wilhelm scream! I hear pitz barking in all sorts of shows, among others. |

I mostly hear the Gurgeling Sounds in TV Shows. like the Mucos sound, or the Piranhas eating ^^...
Everytime i recognize them i am amused, even if the show is not that good ^^.

The one I hear most often is the jungle seed bank sound from C3. |

I remember hearing the Muco gurgle in an episode of Samurai Jack. It was the sound of oozing robot blood hahaha. |

I hear the splicing machine noises a ton in other media, the weird noise the pods make when they open and the sound when you push the button to splice them are everywhere. |

In Scribblenauts Unmasked, one of the Green Lantern sound effects (not sure if the beam or when they create a light construct) sounds a lot like... I think comedia. Maybe the DS agent injector. My DS sound is broken...

Once heard the muco gurgle noise in something, can't for the life of me remember what. Made me laugh out loud. My family thought I was crazy haha.
Also love hearing the sounds in Doctor Who! It's a nice reminder of one of my all time favourite game series

Sorry for digging up such an old topic, but I think I found another one! The sounds for casting magic in the game Morrowind sound a lot like a chopped down version of the unused DS sounds "chm1.wav", "chm2.wav" and "chm3.wav"!

I just watched back to the future and I think the sound of the delorean opening for the first time sounded pretty familiar |

This is all proof that the Shee were here before us! THEY were the ancient aliens! The distinctive sounds of the remnants of their technology are everywhere! The Professor obviously found some of their tech when designing his time-traveling DeLorean... The Daleks probably found some long-lost Shee artifacts and integrated them into their robot bodies too.

I think all of us have this effect for soundpacks (or just frequently reused sounds) regarding the first game/show we heard them.
For me, it was Creatures, but also Morrowind and a couple of others. For someone else I know, it's Doom. (Age of Empires lifted some sounds from there, so all I hear is ... camels.)
Once you hear that Morrowind door open sound, you don't unhear it.
This is all proof that the Shee were here before us!
This too.
Actually, if anyone can hunt down the actual soundpacks involved, I'd really like to know the source, to sample from it... |

Also I believe creature labs used to work on other games. I used to see their logo and hear the norn ouch sound upon start of Ms. pac-man quest for the golden maze, and Dig-Dug Deeper.
Wow! Just looked it up and wiki has it covered. Creatures wiki
