Creatures Caves

The mischievous Shee spirit Wily whisks across the land, surveying the remains of the planet he once called home. Centuries ago, when the Shee still lived on Albia and shared their home with their beloved creations, he was considered a bit of a black sheep. Though he had the same fondness for tea and biscuits as the rest of his kind, his peers found Wily eccentric and indecisive, as he'd choose to be cruel one moment and kind the next. His poor norns never knew what to expect and lived in a constant state of uncertainty. He died centuries ago in a freak lift accident; his spirit has been restless ever since.

It's only today, however, that Wily's risen to find those furry creatures he used to love and torment and do everything with have risen from the ashes anew -- 10 little creatures, all children or babies, preparing to repopulate the desolated, wild land. The Shee smiles in amusement, invisible against the incubator walls. "Perhaps this is my chance," he mused, a smirk quirking his lip, "to get back to business as usual."

But for now, he simply watches, kicking back and enjoying the show, waiting for an opportunity...

Day One - The Start of the Spread

Fifteen minutes have passed so far, and I must say I'm very proud. Everyone is out and about and away from the Incubator Room, so kudos to everyone's norns thus far!

Not surprisingly, most of the norns ended up on upper Albia.

Even though they're on opposite sides of the desert, Amber (Rat-tailed) and Holly (Jessica) have the same idea -- stare at the roots of the cacti and watch them as they grow. In all seriousness, though, they both seem tired and hungry so far, and I hope they tend to that soon. I couldn't resist putting their pictures together... if you have a wide screen and stretch out the webpage, it almost seems like they're a few pixels away instead of a whole desert apart!

Minty (mlohse) still hasn't quite made the drop off the lookout tower. He's currently fascinated with the red-and-yellow checkered... weather vane? I'm not sure what exactly that thing is called, but whatever it is, it's certainly caught Minty's attention. I love how the cloud is hovering over him like some sort of well-timed censor bar. Mintyyy, what are you doing up there?

Bella (HavenHoney) and Dreamnorn, meanwhile, are loitering by the fishing pole, exchanging intelligent words over the vanished-right-before-I-could-screenshot remains of eaten fish. Just look at how aloof Dreamnorn is, poetically doo-daaing and making Bella swoon. As his namesake, I completely approve.

This crazy norny hodgepodge consists of Laura, Pyrrhon (Grendel_Man), and clohse all huddled in a group by the bananas and mediabox. It looks like Laura and Pyrrhon are smooching it up over that awkwardly-placed snail while clohse is just backing away slowly from the display. Silly girl -- cornering yourself against that wall will only make things worse!

So where are Santa (Hazel) and Lemonheart (KittyTikara)?

Well...

Woah! How did that happen? Well, one of the COBs I added was an extra set of buttons to call the water-based movers (although four of them are useless thanks to the Ocean Bridges COB I also included). Turns out, Lemonheart got curious, pressed the button, and hitched a ride. Then he bravely took a dive down the volcano's maw, crawled up from the rubble, surpassed the ettin and grendel obstacles, and finally made it to paradise. And who leapt into the submarine with him?

You guessed it.

While Santa hasn't quite made it as far as Lemonheart has, he's down on the same plane, walking towards some bilberries and avoiding the deathcap. Smart move -- I wouldn't want one of those jamming my baby norn digestive system.

Laura had also traveled with them on the initial submarine ride, by the way, but she took initiative and decided to go back to where the others (at the time) remained in the Incubator Room. I suppose she wanted to look out for the good of the whole rather than watch those two rascals rough it out in the same place as the grendel and ettin.

Will Amber and Holly eat something? Will clohse get some brain bleach to wipe the memory of Laura and Pyrrhon making out? Is the bog snail by Santa aware that his cousin is on a beach vacation?
