Don't we all?  Unless Gameware remarkably comes out with Creatures 4 or some kind of really awesome sequel, the Creatures Community will never be as alive as it once was. -_- In fact, I don't think it's been truly "alive" in years. Right now, it seems to remain in ashes.  |

The problem is that the former players fell out of the series for a reason, commonly due to a lack of maintained interest, and I can kind of understand that; this game isn't for everyone. But even people who play somewhat similar games like Spore and The Sims can't seem to see Creatures with the same level of enthusiasm. I guess what I'm trying to say is, before we try to recruit more people to the game, maybe we should first consider exactly what kind of players this series would better attract? I actually had a small metaroom in the works, but then I lost my internet connection so I had nothing to tell me how to code it. The room itself should've been done by now, but nooo. There's no way I'll have it done by Halloween, much less the foods that were supposed to come with it. I am much behind.  |

Well it wasn't originally for CCSF, and the theme fits Halloween better (candycorns and such). And metarooms are about the only thing I'm good at making. |

The problem isn't so much the time of year as it is that I missed my window of opportunity. We're getting ready to move at the end of October, I'm looking for a job, etc.--I don't have the time to work on it now. It probably won't be finished by December. |

The spirit of Creatures will live on in Lifandi. I think at this point it's a safe assumption that Gameware is not interested in making a Creatures 4 - they've done nothing with the property for a long time, the forums are closed, many of the mall breeds given away, and they don't have the time/personnel to "moderate" the community. Lifandi summary page at OpenC2e Lifandi Wiki In short, Lifandi is an open source, free content only A-Life game being developed by Fuzzie, Elastic Muffin, bd_, Meer, Daan, myself and quite a few other people as well. It will run on openC2e, a new game engine that has already gone through several Alpha releases, and is currently capable of runnning all the main Creatures series games at least in part. When finished, it will be able to implement all of them, from any major computer platform, as well as our own game, Lifandi. ~Flaris Norns!~ |
