Hey guys, long time no seen, I have downloaded genetic kit and it all works fine with editing the genes, however when I want to inject the egg, it gives me this error:
new: simp 3 4 1 "eggs" 8 0 2000
pose 0
attr 195
bhvr 32
elas 100
fric 100
aero 10
accg 4
perm 60
gene load targ "dave"
setv ov01 0
tick 900
doif gnam = "Docking Station"
mvto 893 9167
else
mvto 580 900
endi
anim [ 0 1 2 3]
And this problem occurs with every breed. I have no idea, why it does not work, because on my previous laptop with Windows 7 it worked, however on this pc with Windows 7 it simply doesn't work.
Sometimes it gives me the error : Transaction failed
Your help would be much appreciated ! ^^

I recommend using this baby instead, which can be found here when you click on "file list".

You could also try installing the remastered patch from here |

My problem is I already own this agent, however when trying to inject not a normal breed but a norn made via genetic kit ( meaning the gen/gno file), the portable egg layer disappears and no egg D: Otherwhise I wouldn't have asked for help. And I aready have the remastered patch.
But thanks anyway for your help >W<

The only thing I can think of is a difference in the version of Docking Station - the original install (available on Don's site) produces different effects on occasion when compared to the DS in the GOG Exodus version. I've certainly had agents written for DS that work in the original but fail in GOG. |

I have never heard of this bug, however I have the orginal creatures gold cd, maybe it produces some rare kind of bugs?
EDIT: I reinstalled Genetic kit, named the gen of a beowulf norn to pancake, then tried the portable egg layer... and what does it? First it gives me an error and stops the agent, then after hitting ignore, the egg disappears... great. qwq I have absolutely no idea what to do.

Is anything useful being written to the Windows event log? |

How do you mean that? You mean the error code? There was something with aero error and else, if you mean that.

The main message in the first post is not an error, or at least has nothing to do with why you're having trouble laying eggs. It's just a message the C3/DS genetics kit makes to confirm that it's going to produce an egg. If you click "OK," you should find an egg near the Incubator (C3) or Muco (DS) if it's working as it should.
If this is your first time seeing it, then I don't know why it didn't show up before (though I do use the free DS as opposed to Exodus, so maybe that has something to do with it).
The "transaction failed" thing is an error, albeit one I'm not familiar with. If the Genetics Kit has trouble connecting to the game, it'll give you "Initial Connection Failed."

When the portable egglayer terminates, then most likely because the genome file was not found. There are 3 common issues:
A) You made a typo. Names are case-sensitive too. And you may not include the ".gen" ending.
B) You did not hit enter. It tries to inject a genome with empty file name.
C) It is some location issue with files that often occurs on newer systems.
Also, when using that method, you have to hit "save" in the editor before you can successfully inject the genome.

Oh my gosh, it finally worked, I didn't know that typing the ending gen will cause an error >W< !! Thank you, now I can have fun editing creatures genomes ^^
